Guns and the stock market are two institutions causing problems that apparently can't be fixed. The worse economic conditions get violence increases and the more people want to keep their guns. The gun situation will get worse as economic conditions get worse. If the effort applied to gun control was applied to making the stock market fair then gun violence would be susceptible to being reduced. But not only will the stock market not be made fair people are afraid to even talk about making it fair. Inspite of a claim to produce lots of good paying jobs and to make America Great Again both of which are dependent on money from the market, I don't see that happening from a Trump Administration. Gun violence will probably increase.

Where do you rank automobiles on the scale of problems? Heart disease? Overdosing/drugs? Obesity?

Smoking has to be higher on your list - its a killer for sure

Read my thread about making cars avoid crashes. I oppose all for profit death, suffering and cheating.

    collateral damage

we live in a society where the deaths that occur is acceptable cost to have the freedom to drive a car, a motorcycle, an ATV, bicycles, skateboards etc

same with smoking - the hundreds of thousands that charges hundreds of millions in health care costs and results in tens of thousands of deaths ......... that's an acceptable cost to have the freedom to smoke

can auto's be safer? its not the auto's - its the stupid people driving them - that's the truth isn't it ?
