I've watched several of Sean Spicer's daily press briefings. He opens up in a monologue, reading several pages of scripts to the press corps, head down hardly looking up from his notes...like a 5th grader reading a paper in front of the class. It goes on and on for about 15 minutes and his words often sounds like Trump is still campaigning as he throws in a few "failed leadership of President Obama the last eight years" or something else related to how bad the previous administration was on everything.

Like his boss he is very thin skinned, defensive and quick to deflect questions or even lie with alternative facts. The tone of his voice is nervous and agitated at times...a sharp contrast from the calm and intelligent demeanor of Josh Earnest. He does not look comfortable in his role. But I suppose the media is their self declared enemy, so as long as they have that sentiment, he goes out on the podium to meet the hostile "enemy". It shows.

Otherwise seems like a nice guy, but over his head and lacking confidence.

It's been hard watching the press briefings lately.

I like your comparison of him to that of a 5th grader reading a paper in front of his peers. He really seems ill prepared and defensive - almost like he can't believe that the press have the audacity to question what he says. Hell, I'm sure he would rather just do what he did during his first "press conference" the day after the inauguration and just walk up there, give a lecture to the press, and then walk away without taking a single question.

Cross the boss. You're fired. Hearing nothing about lots of good paying jobs. Maybe I missed something but I haven't heard a word about lots of good paying jobs.

That's because trump and his administration are in so far over their heads with everything a president has to deal with. His tweets and whiny, bullying comments underscore this. Of course far too many Americans want authoritarian government.

Schmidt and Jared; sorry the guy is an total irritating asshole, who only lies and fakes and twists everything he says. I love to smack him in the face with that kind of filthy GOP attitude Bannon style.

Huffington Post, June 20, 2017: Sean Spicer Says Nothing Useful In First On-Camera Briefing In Over A Week

The White House Daily Briefing is a joke. Spicer leads off with his monologue praising Trump's wonderful accomplishments for the week while blasting the Obama administration. Then takes a few questions that he cannot or will not answer. Today's PDB was absolutely useless, but at least I'm not alone. Several in the media agree.

    From the above link:

"White House press secretary Sean Spicer’s first on-camera press briefing in over a week was full of non-answers and promises to “touch base” with President Donald Trump at a later date.

"Spicer has given this kind of tight-lipped performance before. During a briefing in May, he spent nearly 11 minutes describing Trump’s first presidential trip overseas before dodging nearly every other question from reporters in the remaining 20 minutes.

“I haven’t asked him,” he told a reporter who wanted to know whether Trump accepts the widespread scientific consensus that human activity contributes to climate change. “I can get back to you.”

I'll get back to you is his standard answer anymore...and he never does...
