Dude Wrote: Yea! You are right in a sence. Humans do some pretty stupid things without knowing what the word of God says. Maybe you need to read the Bible and learn what it says. You might learn something if your open your heart.

I've read the Bible from front to back - unlike millions of so called Christians. It's one of the most contradictory books I've ever laid my eyes on and anyone can find anything they want to find in it.

If you want to find justification for your hate towards anyone who you deem not worthy then there is plenty in the "Good Book" for you to reference. And if you want to find passages that call for loving thy neighbor and not judging others lest they be judged then there is plenty of that too.

It's also imperative to understand that the Christian bible is the word of man; not the word of God. Human beings wrote the books that make up the Bible. Believers take it at face value that those words were delivered to the authors by a higher power, but non-believers tend to find that, for lack of a better term, unbelievable.

It's sad when you can worship the devil who don't care about anyone, he is out to kill steel and destroy, but no one says anything about that in schools. The problem is people don't like the conviction the bible brings so they try to take it out.

I don't give a rats ass who you or anyone else worships as long as you don't shove it down my throat. And you sure as hell better not shove it down the vulnerable minds of young kids in public elementary schools either.

If parents want God in school then they should send their child to a religious school.

Thankfully for us nonbelievers and anyone who doesn't follow Christian theology, there's this awesome thing called the 1st Amendment that explicitly prevents you from making that a reality.

Go to your church and worship whoever you want. That is your right. But your right to force that dogma down my or anyone else's throats ends once you walk out of those doors.

Yes Jared, you said it correctly; we all live on this tiny planet and killed millions of people just for "beliefs"; Why???

The US Constitution is clear. Anyone has every right to ignore these religion nuts. Every right to report to the ACLU any kind of religious activity in schools or in local government. These religious nut jobs are very dangerous people. They have infiltrated our schools . I had a couple experiences while I worked for the schools . And when they made me sign up for the cloud my computer got hacked in a big way. I found it on one day , checked the history and found a girl was somehow on my computer and all these religious websites and white supremist stuff.

I had to turn that computer off and put it away. Many crazy events occurred. Religious people see themselves as warriors they feel they have the right to attack and harm other people. You dont get that from atheists. There is a good atheist movement going on. Atheist don't judge. The don't hate. They are the most likely to work for the common good. The future will be atheism . It's just the best way . I have hope .

Yes you are right; cavemen did not have churches or "books" they only worshiped nature as well the "unknown" People only learned to write a few thousands of years ago. However the earth is millions of years old. Thus due to "human writing skills" then people started to believe "written" nonsense. Scientific facts don't count. Why don't have churches collected "talking" snakes to prove their point???

One shouldn't be surprised that tax payers are being forced to pay for religious schools or more accurately mythology schools since the U.S. Supreme Court has been busily shredding the U.S. Constitution for over a generation and as a result we no longer have a Republic.

The separation of church and state should never have been undermined by that court and ever State must pass a law upholding the separation of church and state and not one cent in tax money should be spent on religious schools.

Hey, Dude? Maybe allowing god in schools would have helped your spelling. Sorry, couldn't resist. WinkJust what, exactly, would "allowing" God in schools look like? What would it accomplish? Kids can already pray. That was never stopped despite the fevered imaginations of the pharisaical right. What was stopped was organized prayer directed by the schools. If a kid wants to pray before class starts and does so quietly without disrupting anyone he/she is free to do so.

As for Muslims, Christianity etc that is irrelevant. Man appears to be hard-wired to seek the answer to the question of why we exist. Religion purports to offer one answer. Whether that answer is true or not is unknown.

Forget it; How can you allow something in schools, which never has been proven except on human fabricated "parchment"?? Alternative facts? No one ever has met or seen this "human fantasized" creature, if it exists at all. Thus stop the B.S. go watch "La la land" that is where we live in.

    I'm confused jaredsxtn

There isn't a Christian assault on public schools or if there is, its failed horribly. IMO religion and politics have no place in public schools - that's things taught at home.

No Child Left Behind left a lot of kids behind

Common Core is a disaster that teaches kids to take tests

What will Trump's stamp on education be? I dunno .... but I'll tell you good Christian values to love your neighbor, love your enemy, turn the other cheeks etc ..... those are good things and if there WAS an "assault" on public schools? I'd welcome seeing it vs the crap holes they are right now.

That seems like a problem you need to work out on your own.

Yea, those "good Christian values" like telling gay boys that they are subhuman and black kids that they have to use different schools, water fountains, and bathrooms. Christian values have helped make this country such a loving and understanding melting pot...

Don't fret though. Our new Education Secretary thanked segregated black colleges for being "pioneers of school choice." So maybe we will soon be heading back to what you consider the glory years where black and white kids didn't ever have to see each other in school.

good old Jack Crow Democrats did all that - and you are right, Christian churches I have no use for, no more so than Catholic, Buddhist or atheist. Muslims are a different critter - the radicals just want to kill infidels.

Wrong. Not in the sense that Jim Crow Democrats didn't do that, they did. But the underlying philosophy was conservatism. Conservative southerners did it. It to liberals and progressive republicans to put down Jim Crow. And it cost the Democratic Party as witnessed by the so-called southern strategy.

    conservatism is a failed ideology.

And Muslims are not a different critter. Those who use religion to cover violent political acts need to be fought. Yet millions of Muslims do not engage in violent political acts thus the aim must be on those who commit violent political acts. The use of the term Muslim terrorists serves only to dehumanize all Muslims.
