Another of Donald Trump's proposals in his interview with the Times of London is to end US sanctions on Russia for its annexation of Crimea in return for a nuclear arms reduction deal. As per Reuters quoting Trump:

"They have sanctions on Russia — let’s see if we can make some good deals with Russia. For one thing, I think nuclear weapons should be way down and reduced very substantially, that’s part of it. But Russia’s hurting very badly right now because of sanctions, but I think something can happen that a lot of people are gonna benefit."

Now what kind of deal is that? Does Trump not know that we already have a nuclear arms reduction treaty with Russia negotiated by President Obama called New START. It entered into force on 5 February 2011 and is expected to last at least until 2021. Visiting with the Times of London reporter he may have been caught unaware and decided to offer up something without knowing what he had in his hand already.

Or maybe that's another treaty that Trump plans to scrap and put in place his own...one that will undoubtedly look just like New START...but with Trump's name on it.

Schmidt, I wonder how long we will be saddled up with this guy who refuses to do his homework. I saw on TV an picture of his desk. It looks like the Titanic mail room.

Let's see here. Russia, 1. You have enough nukes to blow up most of the world 5 times. 2. Sanctions imposed because you were bullies and jerks who stole territories have worked and hurt you financially. Let's give you some economic aid in exchange for you / us reducing nukes by a few percent. Net result is the loud mouth president elect will give Putin much needed funds in exchange for an insignificant reduction in nuclear weapons.

    Did I miss anything ?

TJ -- You didn't miss anything. Trump is actively pursuing ideas on how to remove sanctions on Russia and making it look like a good deal for America. It just further feeds the narrative that Trump is taking orders from Putin. That and Trump calling NATO obsolete is another cringe worthy "good for Mother Russia" hidden agenda that is seemingly more and more apparent.

Tillerson, if he is approved for Secretary of State, will be another key figure seeking to reduce sanctions. He is much smarter than Trump.

T.J. and Schmidt; you guys did not miss anything; Yes Tillerson and even you guys are smarter than Trump !! I think this is going to be an huge f..... mess. Europe does not know yet what will happen to them. Unbelievable. But Tillerson is not yet predictable because of his ties to Exxon (who wants to drill there); so he may play along and actually does the "pay for play" as Trump does, who then will protect him just in case.
