I readily admit I know little about Breitbart but their leader rode the Trump horse into DC. I am worried that they are in the pattern of selling hate and fear mongering. I saw on the news a couple of days ago that they are actively promoting (Trump like) candidates in France, Austria, Italy and Germany. Sounds like bad news in my opinion.

Kellogg decided to stop advertising in their publication. Hateful boycott of their cereal was the reaction. Just like the prez., solutions to all problems involve law suits or deprivation of money.

Thanks for sharing the Politico website. It's interesting that Politico has put together a sub website within their website just devoted to Breitbart News controversies. I read a few of the Politico articles. It will be a good reference as the transition and indeed the presidency moves forward. Some of the Breitbart and Bannon positions are contrary to Trump stated positions.

I mentioned this before, but I am somewhat optimistic that there will be other voices than Bannon's that will oppose many of the so called Bannon labels. Trump's most influential advisor may not be Bannon or Pence, but rather Ivanka Trump who was instrumental in arranging a meeting between Trump and Al Gore today on Climate Change....a productive meeting that is "to be continued".

Upon hearing about the Gore meeting, I was hopeful. Not hopeful that DT would suddenly be enlightened but if a couple of rational ideas entered the wasteland of Trumps mind.... perhaps a seed or two might get planted.

Back to the real world. Trump selects Gore to run the Enviromental protection agency. Encourages quick approval. 30 days later closes the agency and tweets "Hanging chads". Next tweet "Never campaign against me".

I guess my optimism was short lived. Trump has selected Oklahoma attorney general Scott Pruitt to lead the Environmental Protection Agency. From the New York Times:

WASHINGTON — President-elect Donald J. Trump has selected Scott Pruitt, the Oklahoma attorney general and a close ally of the fossil fuel industry, to run the Environmental Protection Agency, signaling Mr. Trump’s determination to dismantle President Obama’s efforts to counter climate change — and much of the E.P.A. itself.

Mr. Pruitt, a Republican, has been a key architect of the legal battle against Mr. Obama’s climate change policies, actions that fit with the president-elect’s comments during the campaign. Mr. Trump has criticized the established science of human-caused global warming as a hoax, vowed to “cancel” the Paris accord committing nearly every nation to taking action to fight climate change, and attacked Mr. Obama’s signature global warming policy, the Clean Power Plan, as a “war on coal.”

Mr. Pruitt has been in lock step with those views.

Trump seems to be going through the motions of creating some false hope for liberals, but all of his picks for advisors and cabinet posts have us shaking our heads. He is following his real authoritarian traits and going down the Bannon path. No hope.

Yes; civilized countries all over the world who signed this Paris agreement, are looking at the horror of this selection. You are right, there is no hope for this country to become civilized. Let's hope the Dem's will fight this all the way; but are there people left who can fight in the party???? I've got the feeling that Trump follows Jindal's "model"; success ensured. Wow
