the clown car continues
nytimes.com/interactive/2016/us/politic...
We all watched the Republican clown car gain momentum during the primary season, and were dismayed when the largest clown of them all got the Republican nomination and (so far) has the most electoral votes. If the Justice department doesn’t do its job and investigate the Trump campaign, and if the 3 state recount doesn’t turn up enough votes to reverse the damage, Trump’s picks for his cabinet are nothing more than a continuation of the clown car.
Chief White House strategist - Steve Bannon
Like Donald Trump, he has had 3 wives. He is still the executive chair of Breitbart News, a far right news publication. As the White House strategist, his extreme views will lead to more bad ideas in the White House.
Attorney General – Jeff Sessions
He is ranked as the 5th most conservative U.S. Senator. He is opposed to gay marriage, the affordable care act, immigration reform, and he is a climate change denier. In 1986, he was denied a federal judgeship due to his racism, which is not surprising since he was born in Selma, Alabama in 1946. Feels that federal protection of disable children is why schools are failing.
Transportation Secretary – Elaine Chao
She is married to Mitch McConnell. Although she has had extensive political experience, including a stint as deputy secretary f transportation under George H.W.Bush, and is very wealthy due to her father’s shipping business. Although he lives in Taiwan, all of his ships are registered in Liberia. One of them was seized in Columbia with 40 kg of cocaine
Education Secretary - Betsy DeVos
Has never worked as a teacher, and does not have a degree in education. She is a big believer in using vouchers to transfer tax money from public schools to private schools, and is very wealthy due to her marriage to Amway heir Dick DeVos
Treasury Secretary – Steven Mnuchin
Trump promised to drain the swamp, but his pick here worked for Goldman Sachs for 17 years before starting his own hedge fund in 2004. A large chunk of his $40 million fortune came from questionable foreclosures
Commerce secretary – Wilbur Ross
Like Carl Icahn, he made a lot of money by buying and restructuring failing businesses. He is worth $2.9 billion
Defense secretary – James “mad dog” Mattis
In 2004, he ordered a 3 am raid on a suspected terrorist house, but instead hit a wedding party and killed 42 people. He was fired by Obama because he was too eager for a military confrontation with Iran.
U.N. Ambassador – Nikki Haley – has absolute zero foreign experience, apart from the fact that she was born in India
C.I.A. Director – Mike Pompeo – he lives in Kansas, and is a proud member of the Tea Party. He will be in charge of 21000 employees and a budget of $15 billion.
National security Advisor – Michael Flynn
Like trump, he has a strong fear of Muslims
White House Chief of Staff – Reince Priebus
At least he has had political experience. His biggest failure is preventing trump from getting the nomination.
U.S. Trade representative – Dan DiMMicco is the former ceo of Nucor steel, the largest steel producer in the Uunited States. In 2000, it was fined $ 98 million by the EPA due to environmental violations.
The positions below are still pending:
VA secretary - Sara Palin
Who the hell would put this woman in charge of anything? She was also considered for the department of the interior (drill, baby, drill)
Homeland Security – David Clark Jr. or Joe Arpaio
Sheriff Joe was a disaster for Maricopa taxpayers, and Milwaukee is the most segregated city in America. Either one of these two would be horrible.
Secretary of State – Rudy Giuliani
Seriously?
Director of National Intelligence – Rudy Giuliani
You’re kidding, right?
Health and Human Services – Tom Price –
Is totally opposed to the Affordable Care Act. He also has a 0% rating from Planned Parenthood, so women's health care would suffer under his reign.
Housing and Urban Development – Ben Carson
He was raised by a single mother in Detroit, but eventually did very well, thanks to government assistance. Today, he is worth between $6 and $20 million. He apparently is a good surgeon, but has virtually no management experience.
CIA Director – Miek Pompeo –
Was a harsh critic of Hillary Clinton during the witch hunt known as the Benghazi “investigation”.
Agricultural Secretary – Sam Brownback
After destroying the Kansas economy with his tax cuts, it’s hard to imagine that he would do anything to help farmers.
EPA – Myron Ebell
A prominent climate change skeptic. He would literally be like a fox in the hen house.
