Trump behaves like a dictator. If he doesn't like someone, he'll put him(her) into jail. He accepts election results 'if I win', otherwise..... Why he is so arrogant and arbitrary? Because he is the candidate of the FBI. That's their culture - lawlessness. He is a full reflect picture of it.

I'm not sure if Clinton will be investigated further or prosecuted, but what should be most immediately concerning in terms of authoritarian control is the fact that his administration would punish flag burners.

Most obviously, this would censor political dissenters the most and intimidate political opponents.

Hilariously, they ignore the fact that punishing flag burners would violate the Constitution twofold. Additionally, it is formal practice to burn flags once they suffer from enough deterioration.

I don't think the next 4 years will be quite as bad as a dictatorship, since Trump's only discernible policy is the policy of Me. If we got a demagogue that was actually earnest in "telling it like it is", then we would be in more trouble.

However, the fact that his administration's official stance is to deny climate change should alarm people. It means that, at best, the nation just gambled time away for this man and that our children will have to clean up a bigger mess.

The other issue involves how thin skinned he is. He is a liability in terms of his diplomatic abilities, and overall his political posture suggests we'll be in for a combined rerun of the Reagan era and the Bush era with more bigotry and deregulation sprinkled in.

Shortly we will have to burn all our flags, because then the Chinese flag will be our flag.

Trump had the guts to talk to the Taiwan president, but forgot that we have an deal with China to refrain from doing so, because China considers Taiwan still part of their country. China did sent already an message pointing to this, but it got their feathers ruffled. This Trump guy is as was said many times; is not fit for this job, because he knows nothing and just can't be controlled and shoots from the hip. He also talked to the Philippine President, who is still mad at the US and want to throw all US military out of the country; but likely Trump does not know that either.

I'm sure one of these days he'll make the biggest mistake by his ignorance and ego, which will land us in WWIII or increases our number of enemy's by 100%. Yes, he will make America "great" again; for sure; everyone in the world will hate our guts.

First and foremost Trump is a conman. He's a master at creating populist perceptions no matter how outrageously wrong. That populist attribute he shares with certain despotic authoritarian dictators from the past. People believe what they want to believe.

On the other hand, it could be a plus that the space between his two ears is largely empty and incapable of in-depth analysis on anything. For those who can understand how his mind works and can feed the self aggrandization trait, then doom and gloom may not be as bad as depicted. Let him take the credit for everything. Scrap ObamaCare and replace it with something very similar but call it TrumpCare...maybe even add the fixes that the Dems were not able to do under Obama. Make them Trump's idea and praise his efforts in that direction.

So it will largely be a competition as to who can manipulate his thinking the best...and always give him credit for being so smart with the ideas. That may be very difficult with the cast of characters he is surrounding himself with. Ivanka may be an alternative influential voice that worries more about his father's legacy.

Yes Schmidt it is an con-man. But I guess your last line is not quite right ( because of the S. Africa wine?) "his" should be "her" I think. Also if he "ever" drops his business; then Ivanka will be involved and has no time to coach her Dad. Likely she will travel a lot to visit all these hotels and casino's ( to make sure the "money" keeps rolling in) and parade her ass to get as much attention as possible as rubbed off from her Daddy.

As to the thread's title: I'm stunned. CEO's ARE dictators. Oh, they must make calculations but in the end they make the decisions. A president must make far more calculations including dealing with an opposition party. Trump has shown no sign of dealing or even giving a shit about Democratic voters let alone the Democratic Party. His actions are solely concerned with how they reflect on himself. He is narcissistic to the nth degree. If anyone thinks his actions are not done with calculation toward his businesses then that person(s) is a fool.
