Yes Tony; like I said many times Trump is an "crook" as well the one's he selects; all are rip off artists and became billionaires over the backs of ordinary honest people. We as Dem's should fight all these appointments. However the GOP will claim that Hillary was also in bed with Goldman Sachs. My feeling is that this country will get more divided than ever, which will help only these types of persons he selects, not the working man.

Trump makes the great personal sacrifice to protect the people from what? He is protecting the country from a billionaire is what he said why he is running. The two main things he ran on made no sense. First he said in order to get jobs back he was going to keep wages low. Not raise minimum wage were his words. Then he changed that to good paying. jobs. Then he said he is paying for his own election and will owe nobody favors. He is the person that wants special treatment. He is the exact type of person that he said he is protecting the country from.

"My feeling is that this country will get more divided than ever"

Divided over what? There is apparently nothing that a consensus can develop over. I thought that after the election the Democratic Party would unite behind "good paying jobs". Lot of anger but nothing is floating up to unite or form a cause.

Mnuchin's nomination for Treasury Secretary proves furthermore that Donald used his supporters to get elected, but doesn't give a damn about them when it comes to governing.

It's going to be a long four years, but maybe his supporters will soon realize that they were conned.

Doubtful. Those who vote republican no matter what just because they claim they are "conservative" without being able to explain why won't change. They might vote differently if Trump is primaried but will still vote republican. The same applies to so-called social conservatives (read religious-based to the exclusion of all else) will not change. The sole possible vote flips would be those who voted based on Trump's economic lies.

Lonely, Looking at the"economic" plan of these billionaires, it is clear that the rich will benefit even more than they already did. So guess what happens to the deficit; someone has to cough up the money; guess who. I don't think Mexico is going to pay for the "wall' either. So the deficit will go through the roof and the rich get even richer and will copy Trump's gold plated apartment. Wow, Louis the "fourteen's" has risen from the dead but lost its head on the guilotine after all. Thus we have to wait till we have an revolution like in France. L'histoire ce repette. The only difference is French poor people had more brains than the Trump voters, because the only thing they like here is their beer and guns and weed. In France a bit more class : wine and cheese and pitch forks.

I like to add something what Warren said:Trump is not draining the swamp, instead he put a bunch of alligators into it. Amen

Weird story about this selection. Has there ever been a cabinet with much wealth ? 90 year old woman with reverse mortgage. Lakeland, Florida.

Nice story, but it did not show which party she voted for; thus if it was the GOP then I don't pity her.

Dutch, You can't blame people based on who they voted for. Blame it on the party for not presenting a clear choice of who the working class should vote for. The working class are workers, they are not ideologues, philosophers or policy makers. But they are independent. If they are not presented with an obvious benefactor they will make up their own mind based on their own circumstances listening to the best promise on who to vote for. Just like you can't blame the poor for being poor, you can't blame the uninformed for making the wrong choice. The benefactor of working people should be clear and defined.

Chet, not true. People here are too lazy to do their homework; poor or not. just voting for a person because you like his/her face or because the neighbor or church told you or you met someone in the bar or an grease monkey told you so is typical for this country. Thus if they vote that way then they deserve what they get.

Dutch -- I'm inclined to agree with you. Voting is a civic responsibility that every citizen should take seriously. And voters did have a clear choice. Anyone who took just a few hours of their time analyzing the issues under HillaryClinton.com could see the stark difference between the two candidates. Instead they voted for the conman because they liked the lies that he kept telling them again and again and again. We both know who made the repetition of the big lie an effective propaganda tool. Trump was not the first.

Schmidt (as usual) You're absolutely correct. Party leadership (if we had any) should focus on the bigger picture- immediately. They (R's) just elected the masterful conman, but how ? They targeted people who actually vote. They used a major media organization to be their purveyors of misinformation and rhetoric. They preyed on fears. Freaking BRILLIANT. Results were only the presidency, the supreme court, national policy and our now soiled perception throughout the world.

It will take a huge amount of time and massive efforts to try to reverse the damage that will follow. Perhaps if we endeavor to win on some level it will be a start. Maybe we need an effective plan, and a recipe for winning. I would be okay with losing the presidency if we controlled anything else.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. The responsibility is that of the people that know what is right and just. If the good people dont get together and present a platform that is both good and will get votes then the Trumps will prevail. Elizabeth's jibe about the alligators seems to have been okay. But the consensus on this forum about the steam rolling of Wall Street over the middle class is forget it, you cant do anythIing about it or there is no steam rolling.
