Anyone who didn't vote, but is angry and disgusted at the prospect of a racist southern Senator being our next Attorney General or a conspiracy theorist as our CIA director has only themselves and every other nonvoter to blame. Elections matter and the winner gets to choose who will serve alongside him (and hopefully eventually her) during their term.

Senator Jeff Sessions from Alabama is Trump's pick for Attorney General. Sessions is a KKK apologist, doesn't see the need to stick up for civil and human rights, and is surely going to shift the DOJ in a very rightward direction. He was denied a Federal judgeship in 1986 due to the fact that he was a racist, but times have changed and racism is no longer a disqualifying factor in America. He is extremely anti-immigrant, especially towards people fleeing war torn in the Middle-East, which is somewhat ironic considering he voted to start wars in that part of the world. He will, without a doubt, work to limit the rights of minorities, the LGBTQ community, and other people who are disenfranchised. Oh, and don't even get me stared about his views on "religious freedom."

Representative Mike Pompeo from Kansas is Trump's pick for CIA director. Pompeo is one of the leading figures in the Benghazi conspiracy theory and coauthored a separate report with another right wing Representative alleging a vast cover up by Secretary Clinton and the Obama Administration. The report was short on facts and long on innuendo, but since when have facts mattered to Republicans? This man will now have the full backing of the CIA to dig into any conspiracy theory he so wishes.

This is what we get when people sit on their ass and don't vote or, even worse, vote for a third party candidate who stands zero chance of winning. We can't be surprised when a right wing zealot selects other right wing zealots to serve alongside him.

We have discussed several reasons why Hillary Clinton did not win, but haven't really discussed the biggest...the 100 million people who did not vote. Amongst them are a bunch of Bernie supporters who learned to hate Hillary so much in the campaign they just could not vote for her. Some voted for Jill Stein (which was the difference in Michigan and Wisconsin), but many of them stayed home in protest. I do acknowledge though that the vast majority did vote for Hillary. It just wasn't enough of them.

The line up of Alt-right anti-everything selections for the cabinet and other posts will really test the tolerance of the American people. The act in this tragedy in the making is just beginning...much worse to come.

This guy is the worst kind of person.

The Trump administration will test the patience of the American people, but DJT gaslights, threatens, and fear mongers so much that I worry how many people will submit.

Somehow this does not surprise me; looking back at all the threads I wrote about the "American way". Anyway I hope that these people who he elects make such an mess of things that finally this country will come to its senses that they don't want this. Often it will take an war or revolution to get countries back on the right path, ask Hitler. This far right movement is as dangerous as an far left movement, however if you mention "communism" then they object strongly, but "far right" is even worse ( but people here don't seem to care) and leads to "dictatorship" especially in an "capitalistic" country. Forget from now on that this remains an Democratic country as Obama still preaches overseas; he should know better. Actually we are following the Saudia Arabia "model" i.e. the "rulers" rule/dictate and own property and wealth all over the world" About voting: we should also come to our senses and just let "votes" count; not the circus we made of it in 1800. So honestly speaking we asked for it what we are getting. Sorry but we have become an "naive" country.

I happen to be a Bernie supporter and I am deeply hurt that you believe we were responsible for Hillary's defeat. It is true that millions of American's don't give a damn about whether or not they still have a Republic, as a matter of fact their generations of lack of interest has resulted in an oligarchic plutocracy.

The truth is that America became a one party system a few generations ago and it is called the Corporatist Party which in truth does not leave Americans any choice at all. And it was the electoral college that elected Trump and a few billion in free air time and the Orwellian World ignoring Bernie's run for President, by the way Bernie was the only Democrat running for President and anyone who believes otherwise needs a brain transplant.

Those Trump staffers and cabinet members and appointees are going to be happy campers making use of that fascist police state created over decades by the U.S. Government.

I believe you are partly responsible if you chose to vote for a third party candidate who had no chance of winning or if you didn't vote at all.

We are a two party system, at least at the national level, whether we like it or not. Voting for someone who has zero chance of winning is literally throwing your vote away.

Bernie supporters may not have liked either candidate, but I guarantee you that one of them wouldn't have picked a KKK apologist as our next Attorney General.

Replying on Trump's pick for positions; related to the "general" he picked, I've heard that this guy has said that he enjoyed shooting and killing people; Wow, this is absolutely horrible; he belongs is an "crazy" house instead of having gotten an position in this idiotic "selection" process. Wake up America.

You shouldn't be too surprised after we elected a buffoon like Donald Trump.

Is it of any surprise that a racist President-elect picked a racist Senator to oversee our Department of Justice? Is it of any surprise that someone who has called for wiping out innocent women and children picked a conspiracy theorist to run the CIA?

This is what we get when people are too damn lazy to vote or too angry that someone doesn't agree with 100% of their positions that they would rather vote for someone who has zero chance of becoming President and then insist that they aren't to blame for Donald Trump's election.

Yes Jared you are absolutely correct; however we are in this shit now and as Dem's should take strong actions against these dictatorial movements. The latest I saw on CNBC is that Trump demanded/invited that the "heads" of the "media" for an discussion, because he does not like the things they say about him, his choices and tweets. Thus Jared again I got it right: we are indeed moving in the direction of an "dictatorship" and "censorship". He likes Putin so wants to do the same things as he does. May be we can ban/punish the media as well Mexicans and Muslims and sent them to Siberia. Sorry, as I predicted this country is going to hell.
