This is one of many reasons why the Dems always end up screwing themselves and Obama is the poster boy! He did't learn 8 years ago the Republicans only care about holding power at any cost when he naively assumed they would accept him as the legitimate President what made him believe they would ever change their minds? Unbelievable!!!
Yes P.R. you hit the nail on the head. Why do they always appoint idiots here; while there are plenty of brains here who learned to think different than an "island; money only" mentality.

Isn't Comey overstepping his authority? Doesn't somebody tell him what to do and then he complies. He appears to be issuing executive decisions and then responding to them. Isn't what he is doing the job of a prosecutor???

There is a possibility for incredible events to transpire. What Comey did is beyond logical comprehension. There is a certain order but Comey really scrambled a mess.

Chet, read P.R.'s post. This guy is an Republican and "bought" by Trump to do this. An person in such position should be "neutral" and not be associated with any party. The same actually should apply to the Supreme Court and Presidents as well their V.P's. Weird country to have people in these positions; their actions always prioritize their affiliated party or religion.

History will see this in retrospect as a partisan action with dangerous implications.

100% agree. In the short term I think Comey is in big trouble.

I heard that if Clinton is elected his job is secure because he has a 10 year agreement. If that's true and I was Hillary, his new office would be in the worst neighborhood in Mississippi and trust me, the air conditioning would almost never work.

Chet's heading of this "thread" was that Trump could win this thing. Looking at the "polls" right now, they are "even". So Chet may be right after all. Trump is elevating this from as they say in Dutch: from an "ant" to an "elephant". He's got an "hayday" As the "evangelicals" will say "god" did give him an "gift" from "heaven".

Sorry Jared and Schmidt our predictions ( Chet, T.J. as well P.R. and myself) were right on; we said don't sell the bearskin before you have had an chance to shoot it, already way in the past. So next week I bet it will be an national disaster. Amen

We are in this mess because of denial. All the while I took flack from jaredsxtn and TJ I was pointing out the weakness of Hillary and each time I emailed the campaign my thoughts and implored Schmidt to use his party standing to alert the campaign . This forum could have had an effect if the vulnerability of Hillary had been accepted and corrected. Still not over but there is absolutely no reason Hillary should be running neck and neck with a dictator. Half the country is supporting a dictator. Charisma Trumps objectivity and logic.

I don't call understanding the difference between a singular generic national poll and averaging a multitude of swing state polls being in denial. It's called understanding the difference between polls that matter and polls that mean absolutely nothing.

The best way to understand polling is not via generic national polls, but through combining multiple polls taken in a specific state, averaging them, weighing them against certain factors, and then determining the margin of error. If you look at things scientifically then you would see that the vast majority of swing states are still tilting towards Clinton with Ohio being the main outlier, which is tilting towards Trump. That doesn't mean that all of those states will eventually vote for Clinton, but it's important to understand that national polls are as worthless as a $3 bill at this point in the race.

Jared, just this morning the FL polls show an 4 point Trump lead while a week ago Hillary had an 4 point lead. Thus if the FL voting polls are like that, then I think it reflects the same way in the whole "picture". Also don't forget the majority still has to vote and things can change for the worst rapidly, especially if Trump keeps hollering that he has found the "mother lode" and gets her indicted.

There is a big difference between a singular poll and a "poll of polls."

Averaging the various polls is one of the best ways to weed out the good ones and not so good ones. It also enables political scientists to get a better understanding of what each state is thinking because different polls use different methodologies. Some use land lines only. Some use cell phones only. Others use both.

It's very important to not get caught up on what one specific poll is saying and instead focus on the bigger picture.

I would also remind you that roughly twenty percent of voters have already cast their vote and it is very likely that upwards of 40% of voters will cast their votes before next Tuesday. Current numbers show registered Democrats far outpacing their Republican counterparts in early voting, which is the exact opposite of what typically happens in early voting.

Jared, as this week has proved, as I said many times, all kind of things still can happen. The main thing is that regardless of who "wins", this country will stay in an mess for an long time. As long as e-mails have an priority and not common sense then the idiots in this country will make sure nothing will work as it should be in this government. For instance the FBI, CIA, NSA, Pentagon etc. are all "bureaucratic" entities which at present just do as they see fit; instead of concentrating on issues which do harm this country. Why don't they investigate Trump the same way as Hillary? How about his "tax return" and his "wheeling and dealing" and his "groping" issues. Sure it is now all swiped under the rug; the e-mails which are totally un-important have the priority. No national security damage at all was ever done via these -mails, otherwise this should be known by now. Not paying taxes would put me in jail, but not Trump. Sorry this country is the laughing stock of the world; it is an "banana republic" as was said on the Fareed show. Thus Jared be proud of what is to come.

Yes, I looked at this mornings "polls"; it looks horrible for Hillary; the FBI thing is I guess something which will fester on and on. Only 6 days to go and only downhill; not an good sign. This morning on MSNBC they said that the "team" around her ( which team also helped to torpedo Bernie) is helping her now to get hit. I guess it must be the people who stayed after the Wasserman disclosure who do things the "old" way in an changed society. It looks right now that the GOP remains in control in the House and Senate; so getting the right judges into the Supreme court won't happen. They also said that "governing" will be become worse who ever wins; thus considering all the "billions" spent on this election, as well selecting the wrong candidates, will make this indeed an "banana republic". Congratulations America.

It's rhetoric. No facts just garbage rhetoric. That fits the 5th grade mentality of his minions. Our team hates your team. That narrow minded way of thinking/ operating is why our govt. Can't work. It's immature hate because they (R's) have found it has worked. Hopefully the younger voters can rise above that and send a poignant message to them.
