The G20 world leaders meet every year at different locations depending on who is acting as president of the G20. The presidency rotates every year. This year China's Xi Jimping is the host. Next year Angela Merkel of Germany will serve as president and host.

The meeting covers several topics of global interest including the development of a blueprint for innovative growth, implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, reforms to international finance (especially a push to the International Monetary Fund to finish the 15th General Quota Review), fighting corruption, support for the industrialization of developing countries and promoting the Paris Agreement on climate change.

But what did we hear in the US News? China snubbed President Obama by not offering him the red carpet treatment getting off his plane. And then there was a photo of Putin and Obama staring each other down. Except it didn't really happen that way. Other photos show them having a conversation and looking around, but the photographer caught one instantaneous moment when their eyes were fixed on each other. And they made it into a big story.

Trump meanwhile says he would have got back on the plane and left because of the China snub. Now that's real leadership.

Oh and the Philippine president swore at Obama...called him a "son of a bitch" for questioning his war on drugs in which some 2,000 drug lords have been killed.

Anyway that's the Big News...The China Snub, The Obama-Putin stare down, and Obama being called a son of a bitch.

All that other news about what the purpose of the meeting was for in the first place didn't make the news.

Yes, finally (I hope) the US is treated as it should. Don't meddle in other countries affairs; that is the message.

The next message was in Laos where the whole country side is still suffering of all the bombs etc. we dropped there because of our fantastic war with Vietnam; these bombs are still killing the kids there; Obama promised "money" to help clean that up ( after how many years???) Don't we have any shame???Because Obama's nose is pushed into this; then finally Obama sees what this country has done. With the Phillipines; I know; I helped them to get maritime patrol planes from Europe ; not the US one's, as well sold an large private jet to Imelda at such time. So I know the Philipines and their people and attitude well; they hate meddling into their affairs. So I hope Obama has learned from this trip; however I'm affraid neither Trump or Hillary will change our attitude in the world. About Putin the same thing; if we refuse to accept re-drawing of the border line in the Ukraine ( because of the etnic Russians living there) and only keep irritating them by flying close to their borders, for the fun of it; then we are asking for another cold war or worse. Our arrogance will eventually backfire, watch my words.

Well the law and order Philippine president is having a war on drugs where his police are ruthlessly killing drug related citizens in huge numbers without trials. There are lots of stories of grieving families after the execution squads ruthlessly murdered people who may or may not have been drug related. It's a human rights issue. That's all Obama wanted to talk about.

Sorry, Schmidt it is none of the US business; if international laws were broken, then that is an issue for the UN, not our "noses". Stop defending our "meddling" all over the world; it gets us always in trouble; let us clean up the mess here before pointing fingers at others. About killing, sorry we are the champions, or did you forget what we did in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria etc. and what we are doing with our drones? The few people killed in the Philippines is peanuts compared to the hundred 's of thousands we killed everywhere. Know the word "hypocrite"?

Schmidt, The G20 is like a hot topic thread or A congressional hearing. Everybody wants to get their point across which naturally needs to diversion because it is not about individuals.
