I can't imagine what's in the minds of those who knowingly throw their vote away. Hell, you might as well not vote because the net benefit is gasoline saved. If out of some twisted spite you won't consider a major party candidate.... you would be 4 - 12 dollars better of not wasting gasoline driving to vote. What a twisted segment of our society. Notice the major news stations aren't sitting down at an interview asking: So tell me Mr./Mrs. I'm wasting my vote, what do you think about (Insert important topic here) ? No, America doesn't even give a %*@!+ what those non factor individuals think. Ultimately they'll settle like dust between the cracks in the floor boards. Sad.

My vote is my vote. To confine myself to two parties is assinine . We need more political parties. We need one that represents progressive people. You need to stop using the word liberal as a weapon. It's not a weapon.

I watched Maria Shriver interview Jill. She was very disrespectful. She asked Jill why she thought she be president. She acted like she was offended that Jill was running and taking votes from Hillary.

Jill told her that the green party nominated her at their convention ,the one Maria ignored. She informed the idiot Kennedy billionairess that the green party runs in many electionss for many offices and they win about one in three. Jill is a good person. A smart woman. She may not solve every problem we have but she would not set out to start a war , Hillary seemed intent on doing that. She would not set out to destroy our economy and our terrible health care system . I am sure the republicans are going to do both.

As for Gary Johnson ,dude was a governor for eight years . Dude vetoed like 800 bills . That tells me , dude come to work and reads the legislation and works with his legislature to make it work. Gary Johnson was the only candidate qualified to be the president.

What are they doing today ? Votes to the non winner are recorded as a statistic. If you don't win, You just barely existed and you were a diversion at best.

Maindawg -- Are you happy that Donald Trump was elected instead of Hillary Clinton? I have no problem in people voting for a 3rd party candidate if they live in a state where that vote won't make any difference. However, Jill Stein actively campaigned in battle ground states to defeat Hillary. She should be pleased I suppose that she helped stop Hillary. As she said in her campaign, she saw no difference between Clinton and Trump. Her campaign was based on hate for Hillary. Oh she was quite polished in the way she presented herself...no boisterous Trump like campaigning. Rather dignified I might add. But the wrong message for battlegrounds states.

Raw Story, February 22, 2017: Rachel Maddow: Why hasn’t Jill Stein said anything about the Trump-Russia scandal?

"MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow called out Jill Stein for her silence on the widening Russia scandal engulfing the Trump administration. Maddow appeared last week on Viceland’s “Desus and Mero” program, where she brought up a photo showing Stein, the Green Party candidate for president, sitting with Vladimir Putin and Michael Flynn, reported DeadState.

"The photo was taken in 2015, when Stein and Flynn were invited to Moscow for the 10th anniversary banquet for RT — Russia’s state-owned news network aimed at English-speaking countries.

"Maddow cast suspicion on Stein’s silence over alleged Russian attempts to interfere with the election to benefit Donald Trump, who she claimed during her own campaign would govern no differently than Hillary Clinton."

Okay I'm not into conspiracy theories, but as you all know, I have been questioning Stein's motives to defeat Hillary. Could she have been duped by the Russians as well? It has been hard for me to understand why Stein ran such an anti-Hillary campaign in battle ground states. Maybe now there is more to the story. A photo is worth a thousand words.

Maindawg points out one critical issue which is the condition that the constitution allowed to establish and flourish, a two party system. Unless voting is done as in other democracies alternative parties stand little to no chance. And unless they build from the local and state level they stand even less of a chance.

Schmidt, You raise a very good question. Vladimir Putin nailed Hillary Clinton to a cross and crucified her for previously condemning Russian election results. I had previously thought that Vladimir just assisted Trump but it's far more elaborate. Trump gets bragging rights and free travel, meals and security for many around him. Vlad gets eased sanctions, huge oil and gas deal with Exxon. I had heard Vlad didn't like Hillary but this was a major production and Republicans are saying look away, don't pay attention to that man behind the curtain... We have watched a devious major scandal and the self righteous Republican party will get away with it.
