scaredoftrump Wrote: She had a commanding 8 point lead in National polls which has fallen to below 5 recently and Fox news polls are reporting a lead of only 2 points which is too close for comfort. In the meantime the conservative news media is bringing up her email scandal and Clinton Foundation reducing her favorability ratings. I understand that this is mostly a political ploy by the right but this is lowering her numbers. Clinton Foundation is a charitable organization that is helping save lives but her campaign is not saying this. Why? What is her strategy to counter this kind of press coverage? On the other hand, Trump has numerous scandals in his name hiring undocumented polish workers, Trump University, Trump model management etc. Why isn't her campaign hitting him hard with these issues.
It is my cynical observation that the "for profit media" wants to have a close race. The closer the race the more TV ads and the more money they make. Another view is that the viewers themselves need to be entertained, and nothing is more boring than Hillary Clinton explaining in detail everyone of her plans and proposals. Viewers tune out so ratings go down. Donald Trump is an entertainer. Hillary Clinton is a boring wonky politician.
Hillary Clinton, of course, is the most transparent candidate running for office in history. Everything has been laid out...details of all her plans are there to be viewed on her website. Her tax returns are available on the internet for 30 years back, the Clinton Foundation's taxes and donor list, a list of who she has met with, and now all of her e-mails, private and public, are being scrutinized in intimate detail for the slightest hint of conflict of interest. The purity tests being applied to Hillary Clinton are unprecedented in history.
Now the press is complaining that she is inaccessible because she has not held a formal press conference since last December. Yet she's had numerous one-on-one interviews and has answered numerous questions. But instead of asking about her policies and plans, all the media ever asks is questions about her e-mails or the Clinton Foundation...questions that she has answered again and again. Or maybe Benghazi.
The media is not interested in the issues and problems/solutions. All they want is scandals. They want red meat. They want controversy. They want sensational news. They want outrageous stuff that can entertain their audience...just like Donald Trump entertains. They want her to be like Trump, the gift that keeps on giving for their bottom line. The candidates need to entertain and that's why MSNBC just loves to cover Donald Trump.
