MSN News, August 31, 2016: Michele Bachmann: God picked Trump to be the GOP nominee

I'm getting tired of all of our current threads so I thought I would make a less controversial thread on why Michele Bachmann thinks Donald Trump will win. In her own words:

"This is one thing I know from the Book of Daniel: the bottom line of the Book of Daniel is this: it teaches us that the most high God lifts up who He will and takes down who he will," she said in an interview with The Brody File that was released on Tuesday.

"I actually supported Ted Cruz. I thought he was fabulous but I also see that at the end of the day God raised up, I believe Donald Trump who was going to be the nominee in this election. I don't think God sits things out. He's a sovereign God. Donald Trump became our nominee."

"I think it's very likely that in the day that we live in, that Donald Trump is the only individual who could win in a General Election of the seventeen who ran. Maybe I'm wrong, I don't know but I do know that the Bible is true and that Daniel teaches the most high God which is one of God's names is the one who lifts up who he will and takes down who He will..."

She also contrasts Trump (a true believer) with President Obama and Hillary Clinton who she doubts that they "believe that the Bible is true, who believe that God is who He says who He is ..."

So that is the newest Trump card being played. God wants Trump to win. You can't argue that point with a true believer.

And you still think this country is not crazy? ( At least half) Poor whatever God; he knows of nothing; he's on vacation in Hawaii on his billion dollar yacht. Anyway how is this possible when Trump thinks he's "god" himself and saves this country from "crooked" Hillary.?

Anyway the latest: Trump is visiting the President of Mexico today. Wow. What is wrong with this picture?

How is this possible; I thought this is Obama's job, not Trump's. He is still only an candidate and not in charge.

What is wrong with this country? It is all loose ends without any structure; I don't think that they do things like that in other countries. He's undermining Obama; unbelievable. They showed on CNBC all the clips about what Trump said about Mexico and Mexicans; as well his "wall" to be paid for by Mexico ; as he wants.

The only thing I hope is that they either kidnap him or shoot him. Good riddance.

Mexico's President Enrique Peña Nieto extended the invitation to both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. He might have been surprised that Trump accepted, but he shouldn't be. See TJ's thread on the subject.

When you Google words like "Trump" and "God's choice" or variations you will find numerous websites promoting Trump as doing God's work. It is part of the messaging...the propaganda if you like that appeals to a certain demographic. However, it is not representative of Americans as a whole, and we should avoid stereotyping based on a few crazies like Michele Bachmann and her flock of believers.

It is just about as stupid as Nethanyahoe (spelling?) of Israel visiting the GOP leaders, not too long ago, and solely trying to deal with our Israel policies. But Jared still thinks this is not an crazy country.

When is this country going to learn to have "one" view/policy by mutual consent to the outside world, via one sitting President?

Wow ! In a perfect world....... The R's will lose the seats that they are battling to keep. Dem's get more control including the WH. and it can be determined to have been gods will. Wouldn't that be a fun read..... ?

"God wants Trump to be president??????"

Do these true believers believe that if God wants Trump or wants anything that he has to sit around and see how things turn out? It is my understanding that god wants for nothing. If he thinks it , it is.

I think "god" will pay for the "wall" ; it will be an museum piece later just as the great wall of China. Except he did not have the guts to ask Mexico to pay for it when he was in Mexico. I saw this meeting; I have only one word or this piece of garbage called Trump" HYPOCRITE ; oh he was so "sweet" loved all the Mexicans and loved their hard work etc etc. Changed his position 100%. Too bad they did not shoot him as well "Sessions and Guliana.

The Mexican President was worried that we were getting even for the bad Mexicans by sending him Trump.

They are finding ggrounds for calling Nixon a traitor because he allegedly as a candidate told South Viet Nam to hold off on peace talks until Nixon was elected. The Law is the Logan Act. If it is proved that the peace talks were delayed because of Nixon then he should be held responsible for the deaths that occoured during the postponement. Amazing to think how those in power regard there minions.

Back on topic, according to the Detroit Free Press Donald Trump plans to visit a black church in Detroit on Sunday and do TV interview. It's all optics, much like his presidential looking meeting with the President of Mexico.

"In an effort to reach out to African-American voters, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump will make his first foray into black churches with a visit to Great Faith Ministries Church in Detroit on Saturday and tape an interview with Bishop Wayne T. Jackson."

Trump is playing the God card. It works.

Yes Schmidt; your last line is dead on. There is no separation from "church and state" in this country. they think here with their "bible" brain; there is no common sense in "religion" only "emotions" and "believe nonsense" count. Since lots of people here live here in the "bible belt" then they will follow Trump like sheep, whatever he says or does. And Jared still says this is not an "backwards" country. However "religion" blocks the brains from world reality.

Just to be clear, I do not have any problems with people who hold steadfastly to their religious beliefs. My mother was one of them, and I will not demean them although I myself am an atheist. However, I do draw the line when they try to impose their beliefs on me or make government policy based on their scriptures and faith. Furthermore, many people of faith also agree with me on the separation of church and state. So we are talking about a minority of Americans that want to make America into a theocracy or make and impose theocratic laws. Don't stereotype all Americans with that label.

Trump is pandering to those specific demographics of faith driven people, mostly Evangelicals but also some Catholics and Mormons, who adhere to the "God and country" worldview. What is sad is that while they believe in their God, they somehow now believe that Trump is their chosen one to lead them to the promised land. Trump is a con man and they have been conned.

Trump plays the God card and they listen.

Looking at what you wrote about Michelle Bachman, it shows that people like that ( and there are plenty of them) think that way. It is the same as with "drugs" it blocks their brain to think rational or look at 2016 facts in the world. Science has proven that "worldly" written "bibles/korans" are just "human written books" containing " human created" fantasy in an world of thousands of years ago. People (if educated) should know better now that dead bodies don't fly, that "snakes" don't talk and "humans' can't walk on water. Let alone that an human "created" god thing; meddles in appointing Presidents.

Sure let believers believe whatever they believe, but "worldly" elections require that the elected person stands with both feet on the ground and does not need "praying" or "bibles" to do an good "worldly" job.

As I said many times this globe is "self contained" and nothing from beyond on this tiny globe meddles or controls our affairs; neither life or death. take the test Pope and others.

If Trump has anybody that has advice on how to look and act Presidential and he listens to them he can possibly win by a landslide . Look at where he is now acting like he wants to lose. The majority of people only get a piece of news and information. People love to here him say your fired. It exhibits all they need to vote for him. Appearance visual/audio.
