I guess the worst thing in this country is an Conservative Army Man (CAM), or brainless robots who follow up brainless orders. This would be an great country without all the wasted and lost wars.

ConserArmyman -- Your opinion, of course, is not shared by members on this website. I did note from your profile though that your political views are "The Free State of Jones". So out of curiosity, I looked it up. The Smithsonian has a good article.

The Smithsonian, March 2016: The True Story of the ‘Free State of Jones’

What I can't figure out though, is what part of the Free State of Jones do you identify with. Is it that they actually ceded from the Confederacy? As the article notes, "It was reputed to be fiercely racist and conservative, even by Mississippi standards, and it had been a hotbed for the Ku Klux Klan." Are you like Newt Knight?...a badass.

Or perhaps it's because of the change that has overcome the Free State of Jones area from its more violent past:

“A lot of older people see Newt as a traitor and a reprobate, and they don’t understand why anyone would want to make a movie about him. If you point out that Newt distributed food to starving people, and was known as the Robin Hood of the Piney Woods, they’ll tell you he married a black, like that trumps everything. And they won’t use the word ‘black.’”

"His current crop of students, on the other hand, are “fired up” about Newt and the movie. “Blacks and whites date each other in high school now, and they don’t think it’s a big deal,” said Moulds. “That’s a huge change. Some of the young guys are really identifying with Newt now, as a symbol of Jones County pride. It doesn’t hurt that he was such a badass.”

Is that it? Are you a closet progressive?

I think the choices should recognize different groups. Particularly socioeconomic plays an important part in values.

    Let's see.

fdr saved capitalism from itself ushering in the development of the middle class during the period referred to by many as the great compression.

obama and even the half-wit prior to him again saved the economy by the use of stimulus. Obama's main fault in that arena is that senseless republicans wouldn't have stood for a larger stimulus and that the banks weren't broken up.

clinton actually was a conservative's wet dream. He signed the law abolishing glass-steagall even though it had been rendered moot. He reformed and ended "welfare as we know it."

    that's for starters.

a more accurate listing would perhaps have Chester Arthur, James Buchanan, Harding, Grant on it. But, hey, don't let your bias get in the way of your posting. It's good for a giggle.

"He signed the law abolishing Glass-Steagall even though it had been rendered moot"

Glas/Steagal is important and needs to be invoked. But the monster that got and gets overlooked, the monster that created the 2008 crash and the monster that is consuming the USA economy is the Commodity Futures Modernization Act. It is daily stealing millions of dollars from the real economy and stagnating billions of dollars that should be used for real brick and mortar business. The CFMA opened up the classification of futures to untold numbers of stocks. The result is that the newly determined stocks trading as futures are not regulated. Mortgages are classified as futures under the CFMA. What characteristics of futures do mortgages have in common with pork bellies and orange juice. It is not only wrong, but a travesty. The law also overrode New York State law that had these types of trades defined as illegal gambling under the gaming laws of New York State.

Yup, the continued and legalized non-regulation of derivatives followed by the criminal Greenspan's admission of a "flaw" in his theory led directly to financial chaos. And minsky who died in 1995 or 1996 I forget which predicted it with the financial instability hypothesis.
