Bernie Sanders endorsed Hillary Clinton today in a very strong move to unity within the party. He is on board and will do everything he can to see that Hillary is elected. It was a strong speech...a courageous endorsement. Bernie showed a lot of class.

Huffington Post: Bernie Sanders Endorses Hillary Clinton For President

I watched his speech, and I have to admit to being pleasantly surprised at how supportive he was of Hillary in his endorsement. He didn't hold back.

Now I'm fired up and ready to go!

Schmidt,I'm an bit amazed at this country. Bernie gave an hell of an good speech. However do you realize of all the things he mentioned that all of these things civilized countries in Europe had already for years and years, let alone the death penalty that was already abandoned when I was a kid; as well free education which I had more than 60 years ago. Thus in other words this country is backwards. Except on the military side and meddling side then they are number one. Bernie as well mentioned infrastructure; yeah that is about time we spent something on that. Then we have the environment; just ask our corrupt governor when he will stop lining his pockets with poluter's money. etc. etc. My wife is in Europe right now went to the doctor ( has no insurance there) but paid only $25 for an long visit; drugs cost a quarter de cost of here etc.

So all nice plans; which is about time, but the question remains how much of it will actually be achieved; ask Obama what he achieved.

This country has so much to catch up on, it is unbelievable. Thus Schmidt temper your fired up state; there is still an long way to go before this country can call itself "civil", just like Trump who loves waterboarding and torture and death penalties. Let alone our militarized police forces and stupid gun laws

I wasn't able to watch it live, but I was able to find the video on YouTube and I can finally breath a deep sigh of relief. This was exactly the type of endorsement I was hoping for and now I only hope that he will be able to convince the vast majority of his loyal followers to fall in line behind Secretary Clinton this election cycle.

Do we really have to go over this again? Do you not remember where we were as a country back in January of 2009?

We were shedding jobs like a cat losing its winter coat. Our automotive industry was on the verge of becoming non-existent. People could be denied health coverage for any reason under the sun. We had tens of thousands of soldiers fighting wars of choice in far off lands. People couldn't marry the person they loved. And the stock market was on the verge of complete and total collapse.

I don't have to ask Obama what he achieved because I've spent the past seven and a half years documenting every accomplishment he and the Democrats have been able to implement.

Wow Jared. I had forgotten about that list of accomplishments. I hadn't looked at it in a long while, and now notice you have been busy bringing it up to date. It's quite extensive. Thanks.

I'm thrilled this happened. Over due in my opinion. It was a great event with good messages. No doubt the democratic party will do things to help people. If you're a poor republican vote trump. He'll make sure that doesn't change. It's not unclear at all what's right and what's wrong. Your definition of right and wrong is subject to review however. Most important is getting a Dem. president, Dem senators and congress members and real human beings on the supreme court. Repub. platform was discussed yesterday. No threat to guns. Porn. however is in their opinion what's ruining this country. The religeous right is neither.

Jared, you disappoint me; I was not talking about OTHER things than the Dem's platform(s), as well Obama's platform. Not what he achieved beyond the platform. Thus all the points Hillary/Sanders made, how many will be achieved?. Related to Obama his points were: Closing Guantanamo prison; did not happen. Stop the war in Afghanistan did not happen (he's sending even more troops instead) let alone in Iraq and an added war in Syria as well more troops stationed over the whole world as well in places like Romania, Poland etc. Thus only an expansion of our "military" involvement everywhere; instead of reduction. Your points of achievements are an "better economic environment" which was achieved not only by him.

So we now judge how successful a President is by whether or not they achieve every single thing they wanted to get done?

One of President Obama's first Executive Orders was to shut down GITMO, but Congress tied his hands and prevented him from being able to do so. And even without Congressional help, he was still able to get the number of prisoners there down to 80.

He dramatically reduced the number of troops in Afghanistan and cut the number of troops in Iraq to a few hundred.

We have had troops placed in Romania, Poland, and all throughout Europe for decades. He never promised to withdrawal any of those and the countries where the troops are stationed have never asked him to.

Jared, related to "troop deployment" sorry to say what you mentioned is not true; everywhere the troops stationed all over the place only expanded and made up for your mentioned reductions; thus result "0" Just draw a map of the world and mark every location where we have troops stationed; I bet you forget at least half of them, because the Pentagon wants to keep a lot "secret" and hidden for the public, or calls it by a different name; so you can't trust it.

Hopefully you saw the speech ( again an speech?) he gave in Spain for thousands of US troops stationed there. (what for?)

Why station 1000 US troops in Romania; that will only boost the tensions between us and Russia only more. The same in Poland. Why US troops? Why not NATO? I guess they don't trust NATO and want their "noses" into it.

Russia will never attack western Europe; because the scars of WWII are still there, as well they need Europe for western goodies. Also if they want, then just like in WWII they are quicker in Berlin than the US; so forget NATO.

Hope you looked at Bill Maher, who said the same thing, that our foreign policies "stink" as well that our "drone" use only creates more "terrorist" than ever. Etc. So wise up about what the US is doing beyond our borders; most of it will eventually backfire.

Hillary is absolutely the wrong person for foreign policies; she is an war hawk; voted for the Iraq war, as well thus "brainless" in that respect. She only "visited" heads of state; stayed in well protected luxury hotels as well bodyguards all around her. That way, then you have no clue about these countries themselves and their people. The arrogance in this country to dictate other countries on how to live is ridiculous; if we don't like something, then sent in the drones; that will help.

During her speech with Bernie she on purpose deleted anything about foreign policies or the military; because those are her weak points looking at things in world as an US lawyer. ( laws all over the world are different than ours; looking at for example at our "gun" laws; what a joke)

today on Facebook it was reported that about half of Sanders supporters are expecting to vote for either the Libertarian or Green party candidate. Mr. Sanders, I would have expected nothing less. That great speech that you gave plus 5.00 will get you a good cup of coffee at Starbucks. Go home and look for those income taxes that you didn't turn in. Hmmmmm you and DTrump have more in common than most realize. I want to win it all or I'll burn the party down.

"Burn the party down" ? Which party? Bring enough matches and firewood!!
