Just on the news; at least 20 dead at an Orlando nightclub; the shooter is also dead.

Of course immediately the "media" screams: an "terror attack" likely done by an "muslim(s)"

This is exactly what Trump wants to hear ( did he orchestrate that?) What an total ridiculous country to play into Trumps cards.

Let's be honest; this country is asking for it with their ridiculous gun laws. Which are supported by Trump types etc.

Sick very sick indeed. They thrive here on the word "TERROR", which is as bad as "THIS KEEPS US SAFE"

Also since it was an "gay" bar/club then indeed Trump loves this as well the "evilgelicals.

The news is just coming out, and we don't know a lot of details. I wouldn't read too much into it yet, other than that "guns" were once again the assassin's weapon of choice. The gunman is dead...another act of rage? Or something else?

It's all over the news. Tragic loss of life. When I first heard it was at a gay club, I thought more hatred turning into violence. Muslim / Islamic is what keeps being said on CNN. Whatever the details are, it's disgusting that people want to kill people. Trump in Tampa yesterday...... coincidence ? yes maybe / probably.

According to msnbc, this may be more hate than terrorism. Shooters father said gunman was in Miami a couple of months ago and saw two men kissing. He was said to have been very bothered by this. Because his name is Omar the terrorism claim is in bold letters.

Just now the news reported 50 killed and 53 injured.

The way I view this is again it proves that "guns" and "mental" issues clash. If you don't like "gay's" or "Muslim's" or "Jews" or "black people", then because of the "media" here, should be no reason not to grab your gun.

The "mental" health in this country is the worst in the world because of a lot of reasons.

First of all the "media" here is not unbiased, second doctors just give mostly only "pills" for mental issues instead of having in every town an European style "mental health" facility with specialists . Third people coming out of "jail" have huge mental issues. Fourth people coming out of our wars have mental issues. People in our "slums" have mental issues. People without any money have mental issues. "Believers" have huge mental issues, like the "fat" lady out of Kentucky. You have to be "number one" everywhere; second place does not count, so lots of people get an inferiority complex because of such culture here and commit suicide or shoot up the place etc.

So my feeling is that this happening is nothing out of the ordinary, because this country likes this culture, as well Trump, the GOP and the "media" (owned here by "billionaires") as well our government who refuses to see that mental health and real education here is the real culprit. These things as well the "la la land" believes, brought on by the churches, creates an society which has no direction or common sense. It only creates an "heaven" for a few with "money", who also are not happy or satisfied with their lives and indulge on "worldly goods" which makes them act like Trump. I pity these people.

I don't think this has anything at all to do with mental health. It was an act of terror and hate against gay people. And it shows how easy it is for anyone to get their hands on any weapons they want in this country.

It was so sad to see the fatalism in Obama's demeanor while he was giving his statement. You can tell he already knows Congress will do absolutely nothing about our out of control gun culture because they are so beholden to the NRA and would rather see a thousand more mass shootings than dare cross them.

Jared, which planet do you live on: IT IS AN 100% MENTAL HEALTH ISSUE!!

The indoctrination in this country does do that. The guy "hated" gays; I guess "hate" is an "mental issue"; you must know better.

This country is poisoned by continuous indoctrination by the "media", "churches", "military", "patriotism", NRA, government actions and rules like abortion, drugs, alcohol, VA homeless; Planned Parenthood (also an shooting) you name it.

Why do people grab guns?? Just answer that question; there is always an "mental" issue. Wake up Jared!!!

YOUR STUPID "BRAIN " (which is "mentally " programmed) TELLS YOU TO GRAB THE GUN AND SHOOT: NOT JESUS!!!

Jared, it is the "mental" culture here; ever seen an "movie" without shooting or killing? It is baked in in this culture in our "entertainment" ; the more shooting and the more bigger guns the better; how about our kids they learn to shoot on their phones and I-Pads. Is this thus not an mental issue????? Shaking my head.

Dutch, you're repeating NRA talking points verbatim. The vast majority of mentally unstable people are not violent. That's just a fact. Hate is not a mental health issue; it's a hate issue.

I'd say it's often a combination of both. True, mentally ill people are not always violent but a good case can be made for violent people being mentally ill and the same also goes for gun nuts and those who claim to have true faith in any religion!

How many more sensational tragic shootings do we endure before putting security in place to prevent them. How many people have to die in order to start prevention. I don't want to live in a police state opposing I don't want to give up my guns. The only gun control to stop the shootings is unwarranted search and seizure to confiscate guns. That for sure violates the anti police state people. 500,000 mass shooting prevention law men would put a stop to the mass killings. Federal officers or and mobilize the army and national guard . What is the point in letting mass murders continue?

Gun Industry Executives Say Mass Shootings Are Good for Business

Let's get to the real point. The NRA is the "middleman" in this. The gun manufacturers are hiding behind the NRA.

Colt is the manufacturer of the AR-15, the weapon of choice for mass murderers. We should start calling out the CEOs of these gun manufacturers for their blood money....especially how much money they make on every mass killing.

I don't want my shotgun taken away either. Difference is it holds 6 shells then I have to reload. Nobody realistically expects that guns are in danger of being taken. What would seriously help is making assault weapons and large clips illegal. People would still be at risk but maybe not 50 at a time. Politicians seem affraid to mention this so voters should voice their disgust by e mailing candidates saying hey, I - we vote and we're not going to vote for you ever again unless you stop being a puppet for the NRA. We need to make specific demands. I'm sick of all of these mass shootings. I just read that today their was another mass shooting in Roswell, NM. This time 5 killed, 3 of which were said too be children. Far more than sad, it's #@%^ disgusting.

I repeat; it is an "cultural" problem, because even little kids play "shooting" games on their "phones" or I-Pads or X-Box etc. Kids also get "toy" guns; one got "shot" by the police having one.

The more killing on TV series the better; lets have some more Star Wars movies and Rambo like movies. The "MEDIA" is the culprit in this country as well it "exports" this mentality, just to make money. Also the killing by our "army" is glorified, you even get medals for that.

Sorry but this country itself is to blame. That is why it is an "mental" issue brought in by continuous indoctrination via all the junk on TV and "war" games on our toys.

I'll like to add that again this is also an "religious" created event, due to religious fanatism by the GOP against the LBGT people as well Planned Parenthood where also was an killing for the same religious reason..

It started already in Kentucky with the "fat" lady and continues in N Carolina with the "toilet" issue. Then on top of course blame any Muslim as propagated by Trump. Therefore I repeat "religion" is the curse of humanity. Don't forget that "Jesus" was "gay" running around with 12 men. People like Trump and Scott thrive on these events because they support our hypocritical "evil-gelicals" as well our 18th century out-dated stupid gun laws.

First I agree with Dutch about Trump. Trump aligns himself with a discretionary not general expression of acceptance.

Second Hillary is aligning herself with my idea of protection from loan wolf killers. But typical of Hillary she will align herself with the subject to get associative recognition.

Third Trump wasn't too bad on it. The administration is doing itself a disservice and playing into Trump's hand by distancing events from terroristic. It builds support for Trump's ban on Muslims when the administration shys from terrorist assignation.
