The Ted Cruz ticket is now officially the Ted Cruz-Carly Fiorina ticket. He is making his VP selection early to help enhance his chances in Indiana and the remaining states in the primary process. I listened to his speech raving about her and throwing the usual red meat. "This is a choice between freedom or tyranny", he said. And blah, blah, blah. She doubled down in her speech. I finally quit watching.

    Thoughts?

Yeah, Cruz doesn't have any original ones.

Perhaps someone can explain how a CEO that drove their company into the ground has anything to do with freedom and tyranny?

Ted Cruz is picking Carly Fiorina for the same reason John McCain picked Sarah Palin. To get the woman vote and help him where he is weak. It is cynical. And I think it will backfire on him the same way it did with John McCain.

It's entirely irrelevant. Bob in sales (second floor) is picking Marco Rubio as his VP............

There is a big difference between Carly Fiorina and Sarah Palin. Carly is articulate and polished. Sarah Palin is inarticulate...cannot string a sentence together and jumps all over the place. Carly would be formidable in a debate of VPs if she ever got the chance.

Maybe, if they prepped the hell out of her. She has no experience at all which is the claim of the rw about Obama. Combined with the one term senator everyone hates and the end result would be a mess.

No Schmidt, he elected her because of her stupidity related to Planned Parenthood; it fits him because he's the "Evilgelical" who agrees with her since she's also "Evilgelical in a big way. The first job will be for her ( if he ever gets elected) to eradicate Planned Parenthood and have churches built on every corner as his "infrastructure" program. It's "god's will!!

How true Dutch! Not to mention the fact that although SP might be as stupid as a rock there is some (admittedly very little) humor in watching her make a fool of herself. CF, on the other hand, makes you just want to throw a rock at your TV.

Dutch -- I didn't say anything about "electing" people, and we certainly didn't elect Sarah Palin or Carly Fiorina to anything (although Alaskans elected Palin as mayor and governor). I merely pointed out one very evident difference between Carly Fiorina and Sarah Palin. Fiorina can talk and express herself. Sarah Palin makes a fool out of herself every time she opens her mouth. You read more into my post then was there.

Sorry Schmidt, Cruz "elected" her as I wrote. Indeed she's even more stupid than Palin; at least Palin plays it "openly" so you see the stupidity. With Carly she just "makes up" false tinkered with video's as a sneaky backhanded person. So what is worse?

Dutch -- "Stupid" is hardly the word that I would apply to Carly Fiorina. She has an MBA in marketing, from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, College Park. And a Master of Science, in management, at the MIT Sloan School of Management, that she obtained under the Sloan Fellows program.

Sarah Palin, on the other hand, struggled to get through community colleges in Idaho to finally get her degree in communications and journalism from the University of Idaho.

Carly Fiorina has character faults that make her unsuitable to be president, but "stupid" is not one of them. I think she is smarter than Ted Cruz.

No, Schmidt we discussed this before, sorry I know a lot of people who had fantastic schooling, but never had the capability of what they learned to apply that in their jobs, A lot of CEO's have that handicap. She's one of them; like I told you a few times: "book" knowledge is worthless if you can't think for yourself and can't put the pieces together as well have other qualities than just scoring at school (having managerial skills). She was not capable of that at HP. So I keep calling her "stupid" I've had also people like that around me, who absolutely had no clue, because it was not in one of their study "books". Lots of people have that handicap. Especially fanatic "believers" like her, who "believe" in "human" written material which they do not dare to question. Thus likely everything she got on her desk in written form became the "truth". That was her downfall.

Dutch -- You are using the word "stupid" as a catch all for undesirable character traits. If I were to describe Carly Fiorina, I would use words and phrases like resentful, antagonistic, deceitful, insensitive, selfish, defensive, mean spirited, ruthless, revengeful, cold hearted, contemptuous, untrusting , dishonest, and non-team player. But certainly not stupid. She did not get to be CEO of HP by being stupid. Yes she didn't have all necessary skills to survive at the top of HP, but many of those shortcomings had to do with her people skills, the way she treated people for her own personal gain rather than her intellectual ability. She had reasonable business acumen, but relied too much on her own views rather than listening to her own people. She had the "gift of the gab" to help her rise to prominence, but once at the top her other shortcomings became evident.

John Boehner today when asked his opinion of Ted Cruz:

"Boehner made a face, drawing laughter from the crowd, and added “Lucifer in the flesh. I have Democrat friends and Republican friends. I get along with almost everyone, but I have never worked with a more miserable son of a bitch in my life.”

Life goes on in the Republican Party.

I just can't stop laughing about the fact that Ted Cruz is trailing badly in the delegate race, but somehow has convinced himself that he is still the front runner.

The last politician to have ever done this before was Ronald Reagan in 1976 and that didn't wind up working very well for him. Let's just hope history doesn't repeat itself in 2020 like it did in 1980.
