He's out researching Hillary, trying to find something good to say about her, most likely. I'm afraid he isn't going to find out much in Monument Valley, however.

You said it, Monument to not finding much good about Hillary. She can type a letter on a keyboard and then take credit for inventing computers.

I agree with Schmidt; he needed an vacation, because I wrote nasty things about this arrogant country, which can't even elect an smart non-ego tripping President!!

Dutch, Our choice for President might be represented by the movie "Dumb and Dumber" with a change to "Ruthless and Ruthlesser".

Chet, I liked the "dumb" movie better; at least it is a movie and not reality

He probably needed a break. This is the first time I've clicked on this site in about 2 weeks (It's possible I assure you !)

Reading the debate thread was kind of pitiful. You should all expect so much more from yourselves. I didn't read too much because it was infantile. Some very very good minds are on this site but when you're stuck in the mud............. good luck with that.

If Schmidt found an alternative I hope he shares it.

Hope he's okay? He's a long time, prolific member, and probably the best writer on this site. And I would call him friend.

Sheesh. I'm back. Didn't know I was missed. My wife and I were enjoying Monument Valley in Southern Utah and Arizona...much of it on the Navajo and Hopi reservation land. I also wandered around the Bisti Badlands (south of Farmington).

As you know, I am an internationalist and appreciate experiencing other cultures. Within the United States, I have immense respect and admiration for the Navajos (original Americans), in particular, for the way they have administered their land...no casinos, no alcohol, and a reverence for the environment and land. Within Arizona and New Mexico, one can also explore the ruins of the Ancestral Puebloans and learn and marvel at their cultures, although that was on other trips.

Anyway, I'm back and will catch-up on all the infatuation for Bernie and Hillary in the next few days. I trust that members treated them respectfully in my absence.

Carlitos I would have to agree with much of what you have written however, I believe you are probably the best writer on this site. Please enlighten us all with a short bio. It's safe to say most of us here are only too happy to share our lives but we know next to nothing about you.

i would suggest that although Schmidt spends a vast amount of time and energy researching and confirming his beliefs our calling out what we perceive to be weakness is actually as valuable, if not more so, than what he actually "discovers" for us. Differing points of view only enhance and educate us and unless you are a conservative bring us closer together in the end.

Let's not forget the mark of a conservative thinker is to always confirm existing biases and never think "out of the box" something that can hardly be said about the regular posters here!
