Trump now stated "Americans are not safe" because of all the immigrants etc. I fully agree that we are not "safe" from our own created stupidity. Like driving with a cell phone on your ear, while in Europe that is already forbidden for more than 15 years; only "hands free" is allowed. Then we have our lovely guns; every night a shooting in town. On top of that our heroin overdoses which come close to all the lethal car killings. Then our processed food and "junk" food which kills more people than any terrorist has achieved, let alone the obesity. Lets put some more lead in our drinking water that helps as well. Yes I feel very safe in this country related to terrorists but not related to Americans and their stupidity.

Dutch - are you telling me I shouldn't drive thru the poorer parts of town talking on my cell phone while rubbing my concealed Glock for saftey?

The Donald said I should go to Cleveland armed to the hilt to "protect" myself from Librewals. It 'tis the American way of exceptualism after all - NO?

Since trump's family were immigrants, no, I don't feel safe because of immigrants. Other immigrants? They're no problem.

Lonely; what happened to you? I guess either you or your parents etc. were immigrants, or your ancestor's were Indians?

So we should not be afraid of "Indians" ? Indeed I'm not. I love the "feathers" and "fire water"

J.C. finally you've got the picture; but one question; I thought "god" blessed this country, so something must be wrong. The "blessing" does not work, so better select another "god", how about Zeus?

Lonely, in my time "horses" were pampered and well cared for; so calling Drumpf an horse's ass, that is way too sweet. How about a donkey's ass, because a donkey has its brains there.

Dutch, There are a lot of excuses and reasons and blames . But the single underlying solution is jobs. A system based on full employment would solve all problems. In order to maintain full employment there would have to be rules. Those rules among other things would require a universal health care system that keeps, enables and prepares people for work. A legislated full employment system would have the benefit of spillover bonuses. For example requiring improved infrastructure and commerce laws would begin to Unite the States making complementing instead of competing be the operative word. The remarkable can't deny it elephant in the room is the spectator sports. They have found a way to make a profitable idea self sustaining and perpetual. Rules and regulations to make a level field of competition. Full employment by law is the solution.

Chet, sorry what you wrote is just a small piece of the puzzle; to make a society "work" then you also should level the playing field. Just on the news a story on how the top brass of Google are filling their pockets. While people in certain States barely make a living. How about being a coal miner or an oil rig chain gang worker. Plenty of people are loosing their jobs because of industry changes. Also performance here is only measured in "money" not in well being. Like you said way over-payment in sports, movie industry, media etc. does not make this a better country.

I have always held those views, there are just so many fear mongers out there of every political affillation who try to push their own political agenda by using false data to bolster their views. Being "Blessed" means that something good has happened to someone or something, many in this country including myself feel that our lord has done just that, if you follow the teachings of the deity Zeus, so be it .

The "black" hole? there we go again; let's open up that thread; at least a couple of thousand replies.
