    CNN:

(CNN)Iran has freed four prisoners from the United States, including Washington Post journalist Jason Rezaian, Iran's semi-official FARS news agency reported Saturday, quoting Tehran's prosecutor.

The release is part of a prisoner swap deal in which the United States reportedly freed six Iranian-Americans held on charges related to sanctions against Iran, FARS said.

I suppose Republicans will blast this swap because of the freed six Iranian-American prisoners that are a part of this exchange.

I don't typically like to participate in hyperboles when it comes to politics but here's my GOP headline: "Obama Thinks Iranians are People"

Of course; Fiorina wants to bomb them ( I guess with old used HP laptops and used printer cartridges) The GOP wants to bomb the whole world anyway.

As I am reading reports, secret negotiations for the release of the prisoners has been ongoing for 14 months. The New York Times, the Washington Post and the Huffington Post were aware of the negotiations but sat on the story in case their coverage would sabotage the negotiations. I don't know if any right wing news outlets also sat on the story.

This is what diplomacy looks like. Donald Trump, take note of how professional negotiators work. You could learn something.

Opposite of Carter's treatment. Some of the news reports are making a point of calling the released hostages and not prisoners.

The Guardian: Trump condemns terms of Iran prisoner swap as Republicans join in criticism

Donald Trump questioned what the US gained from the deal, in which four American-Iranian dual-nationals were released and seven Iranians held on sanctions violations were released or pardoned.

“They’re getting seven people, so essentially they get $150bn plus seven, and we get four,” the billionaire said.

Texas senator Ted Cruz on the release of Pastor Abedini Saeed on Twitter, saying: “Praise God! Surely bad parts of Obama’s latest deal, but prayers of thanksgiving that Pastor Saeed is coming home.”

So in the minds of the Cruz, Huckabee and others the only good part of the deal is the release of the Christian pastor.

I'm just glad that they were released and are on their way home, skip the political rhetoric for the moment and lets celebrate their homecoming, there will plenty of time for the political discussion as to who won, who didn't , was it worth it or not ,. probably starting tomorrow on the Sunday News shows

Well when Trump politicizes the prisoner swap, we should just ignore him?

Schmidt, you should know by now, that J.C. is like Trump and thanks an artificial "god" thing for their release. But Cruz got it wrong; Allah did it; I asked him via my e-mail.

Whether we ignore him or not , the fact remains that I am first glad that the hostages were released and I know that both sides will attempt to politicize this event, btw, they did on a couple of shows this morning but not as much as I expected, the topic was mostly about the Iran Treaty going into effect.
