Everybody said "never again" after Sandy Hook. As of this morning, though, the total is 2363 mass shootings since that event, so all those "thoughts and prayers" have not done much good.
When Obama gave his speech shortly after Sandy Hook, he had tears in his eyes, and had trouble speaking.
This was Trump after El Paso, posing with an infant who had recently become an orphan.
Although Sandy Hook has not been in the news much lately, the New York Times this morning had a story about the arrest of a Florida man with a connection to Sandy Hook. Wolfgang Halbig was charged with the unlawful possession of personal identification. A former contributor to Infowars, the online and radio show hosted by the far-right provocateur Alex Jones, he has spread false claims for years that the Dec. 14, 2012, shooting of 20 first graders and six educators in Newtown, Conn., was an elaborate government hoax aimed at confiscating Americans’ firearms. When challenged or confronted by Sandy Hook families, Mr. Halbig has released their personal information, taunted them or emailed them photographs of what he claimed were their dead children “all grown up.”
"Scumbug" is too kind of a word for this guy. As you are probably aware, Alex Jones was recently ordered to pay $100,000 in legal fees to the Sandy Hook families.
On January 28, 2013, Neil Heslin (father of Jesse Lewis) testified to the legislature in Hartford. Unfortunately, some of the 2nd amendment folks showed up to taunt him, proving how despicable some of these people are.
