REVENGE? does it ever work?

I wrote many times that our leaders do not understand that revenge never works; they should have learned that from 9/11. The revenge did cost us 3 times more lives (on our side and hundreds of thousands on the other side) and 1000 times more than the building cost (trillions) to carry out the revenge.

This happening created a revenge of which not only the cost but also lives far exceeded the original damage of 9/11, which we are still feeling today. none of this revenge resulted in any success, but made things only worse. Now a lot of people want even more revenge; I guarantee the same results. What has it cost u until now just throwing bombs and using drones in Iraq and Syria, let alone in Yemen, Afghanistan, Libya, Somalia, Pakistan and others.

The new candidates for the Presidency seem to want to continue on the same track and make it even worse costing fortunes.

Our REVENGE tactics have never worked; to revenge the Paris happening will only make them (ISIS etc.) more fanatic. We dug this hole ourselves and can't reverse it . Revenge is here to stay; Congratulations Bush, Cheney, McCain and our generals as well the war industry.

To increase our airstrikes and have France follow doing so, will not solve anything; they will become only more fanatic.

Solutions are right now impossible, because we are way too deep, until our necks into it. As was said in the past the best solution would have been an Arabic pact of all the other Muslim countries to stop ISIS. This never materialized, because we wanted to, as always, do it our way and seek revenge only and run the show and even dictate France right now what to do, because of our love for the military/wars and our generals; as well we love to dictate the world.

WE WILL NEVER LEARN FROM THE PAST

Don't worry Dutch I just heard that when Lindsay Graham becomes President he is going to send 10,000 troops over there to clean the mess up! That should make us all a lot safer for sure. I'm not sure what will happen if he doesn't get the nomination let alone win, but maybe Trump will buy the whole Middle East and then build a wall around it and turn it into a theam park.

And, remember, the USA is God's chosen country so we can do whatever we want and he will only bless us more and more. After all, I do believe Jebeezus is going to come back for his second coming (or is it his third) right here in the USA down South somewhere. Why he might even choose FT Myers as his landing spot - look out!

P.R. He already did; I've started a the "third" coming church here; grew a beard and bought a "dress" nicer than the Pope and learned to "walk" on water on my paddle board; so pls. sent your donations to me. If you want a lifetime membership that is only one million dollars and buys you a lakefront place on Mars. Once I get enough donations, I'll move the church to Hawaii and continue my retirement with tax free money as well have a private jet to visit you and "bless" your endeavors..

Obama is giving a speech in Turkey; again it shows naivety; He says repeatedly due to our "leadership" , our "military" my "advisors and generals" which shows he's just a puppet of the warmongers. I pity him. It is time he reads my piece about "revenge". If ISIS hears this speech, then they know exactly what to do. Like I said he does not realize that his generals give the wrong advise let alone the GOP warmongers. Forget our "leadership" it has not worked since WWII; mistake after mistake costing trillions let alone hundred of thousands lives. Religious wars have been done since the beginning of times and will continue if we stick to religion as a power over the people tool. Therefore Obama looks at it through the eyes of his advisors who have no clue about the world around us. When are we going to fight Buddism?; is this next on the list? Sorry but the ISIS fanatism only gets bigger by every bomb we throw; like killing some mosquito's in a swamp with a fly swatter, then there will be enough left to sting you till you die.

you are absolutely right! the drums of war are beating, the U.S. have not yet paid for the last war (Iraq invasion, all $4-5 trillion in the national debt) and about to begin another! U.S. taxpayers is about to be suckered into another war.

Thanks Tony; On the Dutch TV they said because of the media; the terrorist in Racca already had fled before the French bombed the place; of course they knew "revenge" would be coming, as well as what Obama is going to do. They feed our intelligence gathering people on the ground whatever they want and we fall for it.

Revenge is immediate gratification. Success is completion of the operation. Obsessed with retribution the leaders don't have plans for the aftermath. Even if plans are made they are made by the leaders of the operation. Offensive planners are not suitable for humanitarian consideration but they get the job because they won the attack. If it is recognized that humanitarian planners are needed and they are included in the outset the revenge probably wouldn't take place.

I had a herniated disc and I asked a Dr for advice. He said: " Chet, I'm a surgeon and I am going to cut you.'" That is exactly why the Generals shouldn't be the planners for an entire operation.

The latest in our never ending circus; the Pentagon is now sending up to 150 "spec ops" troops to Iraq/Syria. slowly but surely we are getting deeper and deeper into the quagmire; until now already 3500 "specialists" there, so slowly but surely we are back to the 10,000 men we had before. Also don't forget we've got a 5000 men Embassy in Baghdad ( for what?; processing all the refugees????), so it is getting close. But don't forget we are now fighting in two countries; so we are making progress (really?) How much as this all cost us since the beginning? If I was Obama I would leave these countries as well the billion dollar Embassy and have the Russians do the "clean up" . But yeah the stupidity reigns here and we love to keep our "winning streak" going (wow) and "direct/manage" the world (in the wrong direction) and keep the "bomb" industry humming.

If the war on terrorism continues until the year 2020 it will cost an estimated $5000000000000 (five trillion dollars). A commonly accepted number for all terrorist is 200,000 . It will cost an estimated 25 million dollars per terrorist. I would guess the 200000 terrorists could be hired for $5,000,000 to be terrorism consultants to NATO. Give them full amnesty, universal perpetual passports and conditional GPS bracelet plus other employer controls. That would reduce the terrorism bill to 1 trillion dollars. Point is that there are other solutions besides consuming expensive consumables. The reality is terrorism will be supported by the profit made from obsolete methods used to destroy it.
