Hi P.R. and Dutch: Glad to see you guys are still around. Your comments are priceless, as always. I wonder if Jesus would appreciate his image being flaunted for material gain by a "crook" & a "con" man. And they really expect to go to heaven?

America the Beautiful, & Land of Opportunity. Only in America, can 2 black guys come up out of poverty, & raise themselves up into the highest level of criminal fraud, sabotage of our health industry, real estate fraud, & professional misconduct, to say the least. Now they have finally proved they are "qualified" to go into (GOP) POLITICS.

E.F. I guess you will vote for Trump, because he will take care of ISIS in a second and gets rid of all illegals, and Syrians as well built huge walls on the Mexican border from drugs money and make us all rich; his vice-president will be Carson so we don't have to worry that two headed babies take over the country. Of course all our cruise ships will be rebuilt into warships etc.

The Biblical Ben Carson just keeps going and going down that rabbit hole. Now the New York Times has slammed his foreign policy knowledge with words that are pretty damning....quoting his own advisors.

New York Times, November 17, 2015: Ben Carson Is Struggling to Grasp Foreign Policy, Advisers Say

"Faced with increasing scrutiny about whether Mr. Carson, who leads in some Republican presidential polls, was capable of leading American foreign policy, two of his top advisers said in interviews that he had struggled to master the intricacies of the Middle East and national security and that intense tutoring was having little effect.

“Nobody has been able to sit down with him and have him get one iota of intelligent information about the Middle East,” said Duane R. Clarridge, a top adviser to Mr. Carson on terrorism and national security. He also said Mr. Carson needed weekly conference calls briefing him on foreign policy so “we can make him smart.”

This, of course, is not news to those of us who have watched and cringed every time he opens his mouth. The idiot should have been ousted in the debates a long time ago. He is worse than Sarah Palin and scarier. His only calling is his God. He, like Kim Davis, is doing "God's work", and no...no amount of coaching can make him smart. His brain is wired differently and thinking critically about foreign policy is something that is just impossible for him. He is what he is...a product and a captive of his church's beliefs. Nothing else.

One thing I really wonder about is how did he become a surgeon, if he does not accept anything. My feeling is, as a surgeon then you have to learn all the new developments and science in that field. But yeah if you don't believe in science nor in evolution as well that if people die the brain is dead and all data is gone and does not fly to outer space without energy and don't accept that, then you are not fit to be a surgeon nor President. On PBS they had an documentary about the brain; they stated that indeed brain data once it is dead can not be retrieved. However they will have in the near future a "copy" built of a brain on how it functions. At least this may help paralyzed people to regain movement etc. So science will continue with or without Carson. Certainly Jesus will not help him to get smarter.

Yes Dutch. I think I pretty well understand Ben Carson now. I suppose what really gets under my skin is that for all his foolish ignorant utterances there is an audience of his faithful supporters (his flock) wildly cheering those utterances. They are just as bad as he is, and maybe worse because they VOTE. They are passionate.

I think (or maybe hope), however, that eventually his ignorance and stupidity will catch up to him. His latest interview on Fox News should have had even Fox News viewers doubting him.

So what happens when his polls numbers go down? Ted Cruz goes up? Sheesh.

Yes, you are right Cruz is not a surgeon but an even worse evangelical; I wonder what "paintings" he has on his walls in his house; he's one of the "achter de elleboog" types; which means sneaky behind your back types; thus even more dangerous.

About the idea of "tithing" in the Bible, -- the way I was taught, a Christian should donate 10% of his earnings to the church. It was more or less a "suggestion" as to the amount required. If one felt inclined to donate more, it was welcomed, and if it was less, it would be understood as doing the best one could do. But keep in mind, this pertains to the "church" donation.

When it comes to "taxation" this is a totally different thing. -- The tithe is owed to God. -- The Taxes are owed to the Govt.

In the Bible, it mentions that Jesus was born in a stable, because Mary & Joseph were on their way to Bethlehem, in order to pay their taxes. And when they got to the Inn, there was no room for them there, so they had to stay in the stable.

------ Bible: New Testament: [ LUKE 2: 1 - 14 ]the tithe is for God... Hmmm... Maybe Ben thinks government is God?

Btw, depending upon the translation Mary and Joseph, likely not their names, went to Bethlehem for the census. Which never happened as Rome would not make people go to their ancestral home to be counted and Augustus never ordered a census for the entire empire. But that is beside the point.

Lonely; who cares; we will become the same as the Roman Empire; with or without census. Whatever "god" thing; they are not using tax "money" yet in outer space as far as I know, so a "god" would not know what to do with it, unless they have a Macy's up there.
