For us Democrats that have watched all three Republican debates, we have enjoyed the entertainment as the moderators have asked the candidates questions that they just are not used to answering. Certainly I will agree there have been some really stupid questions asked, but that's not uncommon for journalists in any setting. What has upset many of the Republican candidates and their benefactors is that Republicans as a whole and individually are being "unclothed" (as in the "emperor has no clothes" an expression coined to describe George Bush's lack of intellectual insight), with gotcha questions.

Ben Carson has now organized a "players only" meeting of the 15 Republican candidates for president to discuss changes to the format of future debates:

New York Magazine: GOP Candidates Plot RNC Mutiny After Debate Fiasco

"Carson called for more speaking times for candidates and for the next debates to have "moderators who are interested in actually getting the facts and not gotcha questions" following a debate in Colorado that sparked widespread criticism of CNBC's moderators.

"I've asked my staff to reach out to the other campaigns to talk about a change in format," Carson, a frontrunner for the GOP’s nomination, told reporters in Denver ahead of a campaign speech at Colorado Christian University.

"And we're looking for an opportunity to actually be able to explain what your program is, what your philosophy for leadership is and then be questioned about it," Carson added."

I could add a bunch of humorous stuff about what this closed door meeting will be about without the Republican National Committee in attendance (they were disinvited). So outside of the fact that they chose Sunday night when the undefeated Packers are playing the undefeated Broncos, does anyone want to hazard a guess as to what they will be griping about or what their demands will be for future debates? Will we see an entirely new format, perhaps moderated by true conservatives like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Mark Levin, as Ted Cruz has proposed. No gotcha questions allowed about having to explain their tax and budget plans or their past conflicts of interests or their past flip flops or lies?

Any ideas of what these 15 candidates can collectively agree on? Jokes about clowns are allowed.

Yes; If I was them I would invite at least the Koch brothers and other JBS heads, the NRA as well the Pope to bless their endeavors.

May be Carson can hold a demonstration on how to split two headed baby's and Cruz or Huckabee can show his bible collection and Jesus artifacts; if Trump is invited, (I don't know if he's holy enough); may be he can sell some apartments during the meeting and exchange hair with Carly.

I guess the questions they will accept the next time are: 1) how big is your swimming pool? 2) Do your kids like pancake's ?

    3) How would you decorate the White House 4) Do you own a horse? 5) When did you change your underwear the last time.

    6) For Carly: where did you buy your wig (same barber as Trump?, I guess) and which church made you learn to lie?

    7) Question for Rubio; where can you get the best burrito's? Question for Bush; If you were now in Iraq would they love you; why are you not donating some goats to them and Korans?

Also they will likely recommend to have a long prayer with a lot of Jesus stuff and "blessings" in it, as the next debate starts, as well the "show" should be decorated with a lot of confederate flags and KKK crosses (on fire) as well a parade of AK47's and rocket launchers as well other "nice toys" to show that they mean business.

I believe debates on candidates pursuit of office should be moderated by people asking questions relevant to their (candidates) capabilities and exposing any weakness of position. The moderators developing the questions are perfectly eligible to ask "Gotcha Questions", and what better way to allow the public to see the responses. The GOP complaining about the questions are just sore losers that they exposed weaknesses and allowed the public to examine how one would act if elected. To allow the GOP to assign the specific moderators, such as Limbaugh and Hannity, is an atrocity to true debates. Sure the public desires to see the issues, but just as important is the irrelevant questions being asked that catch candidates off guard. Is it appropriate for the candidates to develop the questions for the debate? That would be a rigged debate. Is it appropriate for the candidate to know well in advance what questions will be asked? That would not allow the public to see true debate response and just how intelligent the candidate is when evaluating the question for a response. Holding political office will not be an environment of knowing what will happen and knowing what all goes on. So, holding a debate with all candidates "NOT" knowing what the questions will be is perfectly legit.

I can vividly see where Limbaugh and Hannity will coach the candidates or their candidate of choice that these are the questions and this is how you should respond. Is that an appropriate debate? Would it be appropriate for DEMs to see Limbaugh and Hannity as moderators in a debate? Here, is the "BIAS" issue. A moderator should not be chosen for a debate that has proven bias in or against a political party. A moderator should be one that has shown a unbiased release of journalistic public information and is skilled in handling debates. Although finding such a moderator may prove difficult, I believe that there are sufficient numbers of capable people in journalism, Universities, and the press corp. I do not want to see our most vocal and herald people that have expressed a continuous opinion on political thought to be moderators for political debate for candidates in our government. There is so many ways that a debate could become contaminated with preconceived political agendas. Limbaugh and Hannity are proven hate mongers and public nuisances.

Since everybody from horse trainers to neurosurgeons in the GOP seem to be extremely Holy men, then maybe we should have a truly "religious" discussion. Like what do they think should be the appropriate "punishment" for rigging several U.S. federal elections? (That one is for Jeb Bush). Next? What should be the appropriate "punishment" for attempting to stab a teenage boy? (That one is for Ben Carson). Next? What living mammal was sheared of its hair, for your toupee? (That one was for Donald Trump). For most of the rest of them ---- What would you prefer to do on your first day in office? (a) shut down the government? (b) drop nuclear warheads on Syria? or Iraq? or China? or Russia? QUESTION: What do you think Jesus thinks about waging perpetual WAR in the Middle East? (his Homeland). ----- Can you remember 2 or more commandments? (Such as (a) Thou shalt not KILL --- and --- (b) Thou shalt not STEAL (as in plundering their OIL). For all the rotten things done to nations in the Middle East over the last 12 years or more, by the Bush-Cheney Administration, just so they could grab a few $billion$ in petroleum profits (& deposit it in foreign bank accts, just so they would not have to put it into US bank accts, where they might have to pay taxes back to the govt that allowed them to grow up wealthy & powerful.

QUESTION for the GOP? Do you REALLY believe in God? Because if you DO, you should know exactly where you are going to go when you die.....& it sure is not into a chariot or pink cloud lifting you up into the sky, into an angel's choir, in heaven.

Good stuff you all. So 15 Republican candidates with big egos are going to meet on Sunday night and come up with a plan or something like it for future debates. I would like to be present for the discussions. I'll suggest what will be on their list.

    1. Debates will be a maximum of 2 hours each.

    2. There will be three five minutes breaks every hour for rest and commercials.

    3. All 15 candidates will be on the stage at the same time. No Kiddy debate.

    4. Candidates will choose the moderators from a short list of Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Rush Limbaugh, and Pat Robertson.

    5. Media can bid on rights to record the debate, but they cannot provide the moderators. Audience will be restricted to Republicans only, and they will each have to pay a $50 entrance fee. Front row seats will be at a premium at $300 each.

    6. All proceeds from the debate will be split between the candidates in some agreed distribution, but Donald Trump has negotiated his take as 50 percent off the top because he knows how to negotiate and he's a winner.

    7. Moderators will submit questions in advance for review by the candidates. Candidates can redact anything considered "gotcha questions".

    8. Approved topics will be Benghazi, Hillary e-mails, Planned Parenthood, ObamaCare, Abortion, Muslims, Illegals, Gays, God, Gun Rights and Monika Lewinsky.

Am I close? We'll know soon enough.

Great ideas Dutch and EF! I might watch that debate instead of reruns on PBS.

Of course, this primary BS has got way out of hand. Almost two years of watching these fools insult or intelligence is far too much. No one should be able to even start campaigning For a primary electing until three months before the election and then three months for the actual election itself. If you can't figure out a candidates value and position in six months you are too stupid it vote!

John Boehner has just said he got Paul Ryan to be the Speaker of the House, by appealing to his "Catholic Guilt" and doing what was best (according to God) instead of Paul's own personal judgments. I guess he did not think Paul's ideas were totally in line with God, up to that time. (ha) However, listening to Ryan's explanation of his priorities while Speaker, have made it clear he is still swimming with the sharks, & planning on complete subversion of the US govt, just like the others. What can we do? We can bend over and play dead, or we can FIGHT. We HAVE to get Hillary or Bernie into office, or America will be doomed. All the GOP policies are explicit, they want the Middle Class to DIE completely, by starvation, by no medicare, no decent salaries, no education, & by gerrymandering & other policies guaranteed to Eliminate our VOTES from counting.

And we know what Ben Franklin & Thomas Jefferson would have said about THAT. Use peaceful means whenever possible, but if the "enemy" is stubborn, irrational, & blatantly corrupt, then grab your muskets, and your brooms, & your pruning hooks, & your weed whackers, & "give 'em Hell" ---- (apparently, Hell to them, is hearing the Truth, right on TV).

There are a couple of good "current" media sources to look for: A movie called "TRUTH" which tells about finally exposing George "W" Bush (Jr) for his being AWOL for a lot of his Texas National Guard duty. (during Viet Nam).

And tonight (Monday, Nov. 2, 2015) at 9 p.m. EST) on CNN is a program called "Bush vs Gore--- The Endless Election," which documents how Jeb Bush (while Gov of Florida) "rigged" the election of 2000, so George "W" won against Al Gore, to be our President. (For one thing, it is "illegal" to rig any election, much less for President.) But if you subvert the Vote in a Democracy, & rig the ballot count, it is outright "treason."

So dear Jeb apparently did not understand this fundamental principle of "honest government." And now he is trying to be President himself, which is a total perversion of the intents of the Founding Fathers. They totally rejected any thought of an "hereditary" leader (ie: Monarchy) that they fought against to create our America. So they would say "enough Bushes."

Yes Eternal you've got the picture; Boehner told Ryan to do what God tells him to do. WOW. I've never heard anything up there tell anyone what to do; may be the Pope has "its" phone number and then I can ask what that "thing" up in the sky wants. Yeah, that is what you get if you elect an evangelical; they don't have to think, God and guns do it for you.

R's are idiots. They don't want NBC to be involved in the debates.....NBC is doing a January debate and they should do a press release saying candidates who don't want to participate.....stay home. How many do you think would show up ? Answer: All of them. Free air time is priceless

The Hill, November 2, 2015: GOP candidates draft letter of debate demands

The link above provides a list of demands by most of the candidates. You can read them for your own amusement. The letter of demands is being sent directly to the networks. The RNC has been by-passed.

"The letter suggests that candidates may not take part in future debates if host networks do not agree to the demands.

“The campaigns will use the manner in which debate(s) are run (and changes you say you will make from your past debates), the quality and fairness of your moderators’ questions, their enforcement of the rules and their ability to achieve parity in distribution and quality of the candidates to evaluate whether the candidates wish to participate in your future debates,” the draft message said."

NPR: No Deal! Trump Will Negotiate Independently On Debates

Donald Trump recognizes that without him on the stage, the ratings will go down. So he is going to negotiate his own terms.

"Trump campaign manager Cory Lewandowski told NPR. "We're going to make sure we're going to work with the networks to make sure the candidate's interest is at the forefront to negotiate the best deal.""

Chris Christie has also refused to sign the letter.

PS -- ABC has a more extensive list of demands.

Schmidt, this shows that this party of evangelical nut heads only have "demands" but no brains even this "surgeon" had his brains removed. The world is still "flat" for these idiots.
