Attempted to report a crime regarding an Islamic Extremist to the FBI and after being hung up upon had to threaten them with media attention to get them to listen to me. The FBI agent took a full report and gave me his name and id #. When I called back today the Anchorage, Alaska office told me that the id# didn't mean anything at all to them. I returned the call to the FBI and said I was following up on a crime I reported and was able to talk to a competent agent who told me that the name and id# for the FBI does mean something and that I was fully in my rights to follow up on the crime. The potential threat from this extremist was logged and reported. These are the extremes an average American woman has to go through just to report a threat to our city and our nation.

Nikkidee -- I don't know what you mean by "Islamic extremist". For many Christians, all Muslims are extremists and a threat to our "American apple pie" way of life. The problem is that Islamophobia is running rampant in America right now, much of it fueled by ignorance. People are "spying" on their fellow neighbors and reporting the least little suspicious activity. And the FBI is probably inundated with calls from people reporting every suspicious person whose skin color or religion doesn't conform with their own. I personally know many Muslims and they are some of the best role models, not only for their faith, but also American values.

Yes Schmidt, you are right. I've worked in plenty of (non-fanatic) Muslim countries and always was treated very well; even in some cases they are better behaved than evangelicals here.
