Some kind of round table on Fox News and they identified Sanders and Trump as contenders. Saying they both have tapped into the anger and dissapoint of the people.

I think Sanders is so popular because he understands that most people don't watch the 24/7 "news" channels and he has figured out a way to reach them outside of those venues.

Sanders is the quintessential grass roots candidate. He doesn't have big money backing him and is virtually ignored by the media, but he is somehow striking a chord with millions of Americans who have turned out for his rallies. Every other candidate on the Republican or Democratic side would love to have the crowds that he's getting, but they aren't remotely close. I'd love to see Jeb Bush fill up a basketball arena. I wish him the best of luck in doing so...

I'm fine with the media ignoring Senator Sanders. It just makes his rise in the polls that much more admirable.

Jared, the problem is as someone described; "big" money stays away from him, as well the "media" negates him because the 1% owns the media.. Yes this is how this country works and "deserves" someone like Trump.

Pretty good reminder Dutch. It had completely slipped my mind that the 1% owns the media. They always profess how reporters are impartial or supposed to be, A check with reality reminds that very few bite the hand that feeds. I guess that is why it is illogical that Sanders is dismissed in the news. Talking about polls the pundits gloss over Sanders' rise and relevance,

I'm not surprised at all that the media is ignoring him, but I don't think it matters that much.

The great thing about the modern age is that most people don't pay attention to traditional forms of media anymore. So "news" organizations can ignore Senator Sanders all they want because he doesn't need them to get his message across. The media is ignoring him and he's filling stadiums all across the country.

If that's not proof that terrestrial media doesn't hold the sway they once did then I don't know what is.
