My guess is that the middle east crisis slowly but surely will escalate even further and will have its effect on Europe, The US, Russia. The enormous influx of refugees in Europe will have an huge effect on the economy's there. We are looking at a couple of million's of displaced people This will also effect Wall Street. The other nasty problem is Assad, he's getting now more help from Russia, which will create even more refugees and adds to the fire. In the meantime ISIS will "cleanse" the population which adds even more refugees. etc. etc. Then on top of that we with our airstrikes flatten whole towns, which also adds more refugees. Thus in other words, since Bush got us into this mess the mess has only gotten bigger by the day. The US foreign policies stink. On top of that we have Iran of which we under-estimate their role in the middle east; we cater now to only the nuclear side, but conveniently forget their role in this total mess. I'm afraid this whole area is becoming a powder keg as a lead in to WWIII, if we don't watch out. I'm amazed that the US and Russia can not come to terms related to a combined Syria resolution. I just wonder if Israel gets irritated by our deal with Iran and "action" something if then the powder keg explodes.

The huge mistake is that we only concentrate on ISIS but forget to look at the whole region and a solution for that. Throwing bombs makes things only worse not better. A very naïve US way of looking at the world.

As another element which I saw on a reply on facebook is why are the rich Arabian countries not absorbing these people. The Western world seems to be totally ignorant of the fact that these countries refuse to help their own breed qua religion, culture, environment. These people do not fit in a Western European society. Again we are on the wrong track just as with these wars; we should have the rich Arabian countries fight it; not us. But we are going to get the consequences of our stupid policies eventually. No the US as well NATO and the European Union is acting all the wrong way; thus escalating all problems in that region.

Hi Dutch: I cannot agree with you MORE. This is a mess beyond comprehension. You are the first to express how the "rich" Arab nations are NOT helping at all to stop the disaster of Mass Migration of millions of people, many of whom do not speak our language, understand our culture, believe our religion, or even eat our food. Nothing but devastation can result from accepting unconditionally millions of people who are not even identified (accurately) at all, or have "permits" or passports or anything. For all we know, they all could be fresh out of jails or asylums. (Others have even said that ISIS could be mingled within them).

And I have noticed some "suspicious" (or weird) things in all our News footage, showing masses of the refugees fleeing over borders, jumping out of boats or railroad cars, -- & walking for miles down bumpy dirt roads. In almost ALL cases, the refugees (upon closer inspection) seem to look very "clean" & even their clothing seems to be spotless and unwritnkled. I find it "odd" that they never get dirty, sweaty, unkempt, or be walking in raggedy clothes. If they were really in dirty old boxcars, half sinking boats, or fled through endless miles of rugged territory, you would think a little dust and grime would appear. Even babies seem to be in spotless white diapers, like they don't have normal bowel movements. Nobody's face seems grimey, & most hair looks clean, & combed. (This all seems to be staged -- almost like a movie set, with actors and stage props). And of course the accidental appearance of camera crews, on the spot.

What do YOU guys think? Can it all be My Imagination? -- And if this IS all staged, -- what could possibly be the PURPOSE?

Over on radiofreeliberal this is being discussed as well.

a couple of things stand out:

the Middle East has been a tribal mess for millennia. Various Semitic tribes have clashed with each other over who knows what, religion, food, land etc. various empires have exercised control over various areas for varying lengths of time putting those same Semitic tribes under heel. The west got involved most heavily with ww1 and its aftermath. The carving up of territory into various "nations" with in effect puppets to rule them in name only resulted in a common enemy for many of the tribes. The continued presence of the west and America in particular has exacerbated the situation. That presence has been due to oil, pure and not so simple. As long as the puppets kept the oil flowing and stayed out of the sphere of the ussr all was good. Until it wasn't which was really under the surface the entire time.

now we gave a humanitarian crisis which is unsolvable. And we still have patriarchal tribalism.

there is no solution. The gulf states will not solve the problem because they gave a vested tribal interest in not solving it.

There is no answer. Compromise is anathema when so-called honor and religion are bound up in violent politics.

Eternal, excellent, you made the same observations as I do; since we have the Dutch newspaper(s) on our I -Pad, there are quite a few pictures on how they act they just about ruined a whole train; food they got they threw away, bottles water dumped, etc. Even the little boy who drowned ( shown on TV as something terrible) was not a refugee at all but a Turkish inhabitant. I think most of them are robbing the excellent social services in Germany and The Netherlands they get about $2000 as well free education and language lessons. But I think this is just the beginning there is much more to come. What a world. The media is doing the wrong thing and promotes this craziness as well
