So, now that President Obama has signed the USA Freedom ACT into service replacing the argued Patriot ACT, just what do you think has changed? Although, the Government and anybody else that utilized the Patriot Act to snoop, nothing has changed unless you honestly believe that adding another layer to get access to metadata will prevent what has been done before. No, nothing has really changed.

Anyway on the news this evening, which I verified on an Internet source search, our security agencies, and anybody else, have been using Aircraft equipped with advanced tech cell phone eavesdropping devices. All that is required is fly overhead a large community or city and tracking software can locate the people they are searching on, plus record all conversations that go on during the process. All cell phones are tagged and turned on and since they are looking for specific individuals they can do their security research from afar without their knowledge. Way cool!

The newscast indicated that this snooping has proven very valuable in the past, so don't worry the terrorists can be tracked, Patriot Act or not. That little plane flying above is a mobile cell tower that turns on cell phones just like the towers on the ground. Yes, if the terrorist doesn't use cell phones than this doesn't work. Yea, right..........try taking your cell phone way from your kids or anybody............normal relations stop.

I was never concerned with the Patriot Act to begin with, but I'm glad that a newer model of Patriot Act was signed into service today. Shall I chant, "USA, USA, USA"? Paul Rand just made a fool of himself pushing an end to the Patriot Act and it was all for "himself" to get paid speaking engagements and possible reelection.

I know lets all have cake and ice cream celebrating the USA Freedom Act.....................me first!

Even though I gave Senator Rand some disrespect spelling his name backwards, I apologize to Senator Rand Paul. However, maybe I did that on purpose, such as an unconscious slip to indicate I believe Senator Rand Paul is very "BACKWARD" in thinking.

I am waiting for the full digest of this new USA Freedom Act. It appears in reality nothing has or will change. That's good for "GOOD" Guys and continues to be "BAD" for those that threaten America. I did read this morning that ISIS is increasing attacks on our networks. So, our new government CYBER Corp force will be championing the Freedom of our America by chasing bad guys in the "Dark Web". Good Hunting! Just eliminate the suspects and don't dare let the media get hold of your success stories...............they will be the first to say, "You can't do that!". Additionally, don't let Senator Rand Paul know what your doing because he'll eliminate your budget and halt your programs. Is Senator Rand Paul an American?

Freedom Act? what a misuse of words; I call it the Gestapo act. Snowden will be proud of us. Keep on spying on the wrong people; the real culprits will be protected and won't use cellphones or air travel; they will come via the southern border or Canadian one. So manhandle poor old ladies in wheelchairs on the airport that will work. A test proved out of 70 tries to smuggle weapons 67 tines they failed to detect these weapons; so the "act" works great. Bless the TSA/NSA as AMC would say.

I agree with the misuse of the term Freedom Act, however it is far from being a Gestapo act, you really like throwing that word around, for some reason those in the Administration feel that spying on Americans is of a great and needed necessity , but they will not enumerate the terrorist acts that these spying tactics prevented.

You should use your search engine and get an answer on what the spying accomplished. Almost zero is the true answer.

This bothers me a lot because I don't trust the govt. and I don't want them worrying about me when I would rarely jay walk let alone do anything bad.

Another wasteful govt. program. Don't worry about the funds being wasted.......it's endless

Useless??????????????................that's an pathetic response. I don't have to use a search for success. Why, just this week and the other day are two prime examples being released to the public and doesn't account for any of the ones they do not want you or I to know about. First, the Baltimore idiot that was shot by Police & FBI for attacking them with a large knife and authorities already "KNEW" what he was up to. Second, US Air Force Cyber Corp has been monitoring ISIS traffic and located a management office for dealing ISIS operations.............oops there go another ISIS operative.............Kaboom big time with air launched strategic arms sending some ISIS to their 70 virgins.

I'd say it's working rather well and success is only counted on what "they" want you or the media know. The Baltimore incident had authorities monitor this ISIS wannabe for a long period of time to capture what the heck he maybe thinking and who are in his fan club. Apparently, more suspects are being rounded up because he had some similar thinking friends (on news currently). The ISIS operation bombed in the middle east was monitored within the US to gather location and quantify if a strategic response was warranted. Apparently, they passed with all the questions answered correctly.............Kaboom!

I believe America is way late in getting ahead in monitoring public and situations around the world. I believe that China and Russia is far ahead of America, which I hope I'm wrong. Maybe Senator Rand Paul works for China or Russia or both.

I fully support the USA Freedom Act and more and hope to hear many more things successful from our Cyber Corp Professionals. Happy Hunting. Shhhh........you can hear them............ listen to your PC and cell phone. I wonder if those Professional Cyber Corp guys get points and the one with the most points at the end of the week wins free tickets to the NBA playoffs or a Baseball Game. That would way cool.

You don't know if the NSA domestic spying program had anything to do with either incident, other than the what they tell you, it was being reported that the FBI had this guy under surveillance for a couple of years, never mentioned the NSA part in it if they had any that is, if they were involved then that would have been a good selling point to keep the Patriot Act intact, This government cannot assume that everyone in this country is either a terrorist or could be a terrorist, if they receive a tip of someone that bears watching then do it by the book, get a warrant, and not just by a FISA Judge, sitting alone in secret, be what you purport to be and that is an INVESTGATIVE Agency, so investigate already, which does not mean to listen to /collect everyone's conversations.

Sorry to say you are showing your real colors; I suggest to move to N.Korea they could use people like you. You have no idea what "freedom" means; it certainly does not mean spending fortunes on something without result, with the exception that it becomes pure harassment ; the government runs your life. But with you, that is what you want ; being a indoctrinated robot. Yes Sir . Love for uniforms, church, guns, and being watched by uncle Sam, says it all. No one with a clear mind or something in outerspace will bless anything like this on this world..
