We Are Not Alone In Universe, NASA Scientists Say - Huffington Post
Jul 15, 2014 ... ... alone in the universe, NASA experts are saying, and we may be close to
finding alien life. ... I predict they stay in denial for a very long time.

I just wonder about all of this; what do they mean in the sense of "aliens"; any life beyond our planet can only be formed if the right elements come together accidentally. Even if so, the result will not always be the same as on earth; any species has to go through millions of years to become something like life on earth. So also the question is how far ( if so) are they in that development cycle; if they are still in the original "cell" state, I can't call that an "alien". I consider an alien to be something what resembles a human or animal like creature. If these scientists are so sure of their case; then I would like to see the "odd's" of their gamble.

i have no doubt that we are not alone. that being said unless there is a method to travel the vast distances besides ships intended for multi-generational travel we will never contact anyone else. and even if we did there is no certainty that we would be able to communicate.

but i would love to be able to stand on another planet somewhere else in the galaxy or in a different galaxy.

I like to add that NASA said on TV; they are searching for "inteligent" life; Wow, now I know the reason; they did not find any on this globe!! But I wonder if they meet the first "living" thing (a pink frog?) if it is inteligent at all; may be only poisenous.

In the case you standing on another planet that will fit your "code name" very lonely indeed; just sand and rocks and no "aliens"; they are here mowing my lawn.

I seriously hope that we're not alone. The idea of aliens having to have the right conditions to survive may be totally false. We always picture aliens to have a torso, 2 legs, two arms, a head, 2 eyes, etc. So they come from very far away and coincidentally, they look pretty much exactly as we do. I think we should be completely open minded. A new being could look like ET or it could be an invisible presence. Most likely somewhere in between.
The first question would be what is your intent? I expect that answer will be peaceful exploration and sharing knowledge. Exactly what we want to hear. Trust would be hard to achieve. My hope is that they can offer us advances in medical care, advances in diplomatic skills, ways to heal our planet from pollution and other man made problems. There are other things that would be very cool but learning to trust would be an obstacle.

Tony, I fully agree, but knowing Americans,we shoot first then ask questions; remember the Indians who owned this land.

But those Indians, they weren't Christians so it was ok to kill them.

I think the aliens have already been here. I believe they dropped Adam and Eve off 6000 years ago (among with a few dinosaurs) and left them to destroy the Earth. Then, Jebesus cam back to fix things up but they killed him before he could finish the job and now we have to wait until he comes back again to really fix everything, and, and, and, and, I believe...

PR, Wow; Jesus just finished mowing my lawn, he comes back next week, so I don't have to wait. He told me that he was saving for a trip to Mars in order to be re-united with his family who got "dropped" there by accident also 6000 years ago. Archeologists found his ancesters (Jesus) grave ( just on my "news" site) ; my guess always was that he never was buried but flew to Mars. According to these guys the original Jesus did have a whole family and a brother; yeah, I always thought he was "gay" running around with guys all the time; I guess "the writer" was yealous of the family. Anyway we can start some new churches " The brother church","The nephew church" "The uncle church" "The little tommy church" etc. "Ping Kassa", as they say in Dutch. (let the money roll)
Sorry the subject was "are there aliens" ( Yes I think a lot of us are, and Jesus was because he could walk on water with the whole family)

imo due to the combining of carbon compounds into genes i would think any carbon based life forms would probably be somewhat to very familiar to us. if there are life forms based upon other elements then we would see life completely different and "alien" to what we are used to.

    lonely,
That's fine if we find a being on Mars (which we won't).... Jupiter is too cold, Venus is too hot. Plus nearby planets have probably been over watched for a very long time. That's why I believe aliens will come from very far away and they'll have very fast vehicles because who wants to go on a 3 year road trip ?

Tony you are correct; these "aliens" will have likely the same problems as us; unless any of the UFO stories are true. But we have one example which a lot of people believe; an "alien" called Jesus flew to whatever planet without a dead body and rocket ship as well any form of energy to get there. So that "alien" must have been ahead of us by a zillion years.

The subject was "aliens" ; I guess they are not protecting us yet and likely have no "bibles" or "churches" but believe in themselves. Let alone have a mouth or talk or eat like us. Just look at this world how all the species came into being starting with microbic building blocks; so any species out there may look like a "monsterous walking octopus" for all I know.

Humans have thin bones with alot of bone marrow. No other mamal does. Other forms of humanoid and there were about a dozen 100,000 years ago , have thick bones. Only HMO sapians have thin bones like a bird or a fish. Now why is that. Do you think it has to do with evolution ? Why would we evolve to become weaker ?

I have not seen any indisputable evidence that aliens re here. I've seen alot of questionable evidence. But the bone thing is pretty compelling evidence that homo sapiens were created in a lab. We can splice genes ourselves. It's not that difficult to do. So we know it can be done.

Asking the hard questions will embarass. Considering it takes about a year to accelerate to almost the speed of light and something greater than a million pounds of fuel to accelerate one pound to that speed I would say it is pretty safe to say there have ""probably"" been no visitors and we are not going visiting.
