I watched President Obama's speech at Selma on Saturday. I've watched many of his speeches, and this has to be one of his very best, if not the best. In case you missed it, you can watch it on Addictinginfo.org.

I thought it was an incredibly powerful speech and agree that ranks up there as one of his best. My favorite is still probably is 2004 DNC speech, but this one might come in second.

You can also watch the full video at the White House YouTube page, which I will paste below.

I read on another site that a bill board very near the bridge was put up praising the confederate leader who was the high ranking guy with the Ku Klux Klan, that (racist) Alabama named the damned bridge after. This many years later his name still is proudly on the damned bridge. How nice that they got that up in time to welcome the POTUS into their pathetic - tooth rotted - illiterate - fat state.
    That's just my opinion.

Tony, the singing and recording of the "hang the n......." in the fraternity bus; says enough; racism especially in southern states is still as it was.

President Obama has the same gift for public speaking --- especially political speaking --- that John F. Kennedy did. JFK & Obama shared the very same principles & ideals, (Democratic ideals). Men like this were BORN to LEAD, & to be respected & cherished. But within the GOP, they usually sink to the very lowest common denominator, in their chosen leaders. What a shame that we all must endure the mindless cavorting buffoons -- trying to shred our democracy & put another mindless Koch puppet onto the national stage. It is surely a SIGN of the END TIMES, since America will not survive much more of this insanity.

I wish there was some way to THANK our precious leaders in this CRISIS --- for their courage & their perfect example of how a REAL CHIEF EXECUTIVE should behave. I can't think of any good way to really EXPRESS our Thanks and Good Wishes, with all the restrictions & precautions in effect at this time.
DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS? --- I couldn't even think of a way to send SYMPATHY cards to Senator Harry Reid --- & how much we appreciate his bravery. And I can't imagine how you would get through all the layers of barricades, that impede immediate access to our President or First Lady. -- ? I'm still waiting !!

I agree. Both of these leaders were/are great public speakers and had/have an uncanny ability to connect with the average American. Just think what might have happened in this country if President Kennedy was able to serve eight years and not two and a half.
