Huffington Post: MSNBC Cancels 'The Reid Report,' 'Ronan Farrow Daily'

"MSNBC has canceled Ronan Farrow's show, "Ronan Farrow Daily," and Joy Reid's show, "The Reid Report," an MSNBC spokesperson confirmed Thursday with The Huffington Post. The shows have filled the network's 1 and 2 p.m. ET time slots, respectively, for roughly a year since premiering Feb. 24, 2014.

"Thomas Roberts, who most recently hosted "Way Too Early," will now anchor from 1-3 p.m as part of the network's push to bring more straight news coverage to its dayside programming. Reid will serve as the MSNBC's national correspondent and appear as a regular contributor on the network's primetime programs. Farrow will stay on as a special correspondent and also host a series of primetime specials in which he interviews politicians, celebrities and public figures."

I am sad that Joy Reid has lost her slot. She's far better than some of the others like Andrea Mitchell.

Anyone would be better than Andrea Mitchell! She nothing more than a very biased Republican troll dressed up as a semi-liberal commentator. Joy Reid is excellent and one of the better personalities on MSNBC, Ronan Farell should work on his singing career and forget politics!

I've never heard Ronan sing, but they say he sounds like Frank Sinatra. Ha. Actually I liked some of the stories he brought to his show.

Andrea Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan...so what would you expect?

Oh I agree entirely. Andrea needs to retire already. Joy is really sharp and a great personality. I have no idea why Andrea is still on the air. Ronan never grabbed my attention. I guess he just looks too young for me to take seriously. I know he's a smart guy, but he really bored me.

It's all about the ratings and MSNBC has sat on or near the bottom of the ratings battle, it's not always about the content of the news but more so of the on air personalities , perhaps Ronan did not bring with him an audience or his personna was not enough to bring viewers over from other networks same as with Joy, I am not knocking either of their talents just sad to say they jump on a sinking ship,

MSNBC sits on the bottom of the ratings battle because they try to emulate Fox instead of just reporting the news. I think that most liberals are smarter than MSNBC gives them credit for. Fox knows their viewers are easily manipulated into believing every talking point they spew out on a daily basis, but liberals brains don't work that way.

For whatever reason why MSNBC sits where it is ,they must do something to enhance their ratings , I don't think firing-letting go of some people who are the visible end of their policies and not the maker of the polices should be the way to go, but this is a rating driven industry which relies on advertising dollars for their main source of revenue, so since they could not come up with a better revenue base this is what happens.

Joy Reid does her homework and can articulate a position with clarity. She also asks the follow-up question to carry a point of discussion.

Andrea Mitchell maybe was better in her prime, but she is sometimes hesitant and incoherent in phrasing questions so much so that the thought process is lost. No matter because after struggling to get the question out she'll just jump to the next question without a follow-up. It's sometimes painful to watch...a journalist at the end of her career.

She is also a "soft touch" and can be bullied by authoritarians. There is a reason that Netanyahu chose her to do his first interview with a western reporter after his election victory. She was too nice to him.

I wish Joy Reid could have interviewed Netanyahu instead.
