Huffington Post, January 25, 2015: Sarah Palin's Bizarre Iowa Speech Gets Thanks -- From The Democrats

Sarah Palin was a featured speaker at the Iowa Freedom Summit in Des Moines. After listening to her speech, I have to cheer her on to become the Republican nominee for President. Listen to her talk at the HP link above...it's so inspiring for us Democrats. But if you don't want to listen, here is an excerpt...very Palinesque...

"Things must change for our government. Look at it. It isn’t too big to fail. It’s too big to succeed! It's too big to succeed, so we can afford no retreads or nothing will change with the same people and same policies that got us into the status quo. Another Latin word, status quo, and it stands for, ‘Man, the middle-class everyday Americans are really gettin’ taken for a ride.’ That's status quo, and GOP leaders, by the way, y'know the man can only ride ya when your back is bent. So strengthen it. Then the man can't ride ya, America won't be taken for a ride, because so much is at stake and we can't afford politicians playing games like nothing more is at stake than, oh, maybe just the next standing of theirs in the next election."

It's even better live. Now do you understand?

No, it must be Alaskan "slang" (or is it Russian? she is close by so no problem; the "ride" must be on a snow mobile)

I like Sarah Palin because she's good looking. As stupid as a rock, but easy on the eyes. Sorry to stray but I was watching C Span the other night (I'm not proud to say that but I stopped on the channel and watched). Donald Trump was giving a speech and he was saying bad things about repubs so it got my attention. He said Romney can't run again....... He already choked...... Lost to Obama.......and there's no way to say Obama care isn't Romney care. He went on to say....... The last thing we need is another Bush to run.......Jeb could take Texas and maybe Florida....... Hillary would win California and New York.....and it would come down to Ohio and a few others. That's when he dropped the bomb...... He said I am seriously considering running for the President of the United States....... He went on to say how successful he is, how he's created a lot of jobs, How he wouldn't touch Medicaid or Medicare or Social Security because people have earned those things. He did say he'd get rid of the Affordable Care Act and replace it with a better form of insurance for everyone. He said there's no reason to leave people uninsured. He said he'd work at fixing all of the Infrastructure that so desperately needs done, Would get rid of all of the bad people in the Middle East, Would cut govt. spending, lower the deficit, get more people back to work at good paying jobs, Blah Blah Blah........... It was interesting because he was being very negative about all the likely candidates.

    Donald Trump (Newsmax):

"People are pouring across our borders, which is horrible," Trump said. "We have to build a wall. ... Look, I build some of the greatest buildings in the world. Building a wall for me is easy. And it would be a wall. It would be a real wall. Not a wall that people walk over."

That should have played well with the Steve King "Cantalope calves" crowd in Iowa. Donald Trump is for Donald Trump...nobody else. He needs to run to be in the limelight for a while again...and to throw out a few zingers at Obama and Hillary.

But getting back to Sarah Palin. She does the same thing...uses venues like Iowa to get back into the limelight.

Shouldn't this thread be merged with the "Americans getting dumber" one?

Yes there is a correlation between Sarah Palin and dumbness, and I suppose also what both Palin and Trump appeal to is that, "Americans getting dumber". It's just so hard to see how anyone with any thinking skills can find anything positive to say about either.

May be he should consult the Russians; they built a "wall" in East Berlin which "worked" for quite a while; or the Chineese; the great wall of China. etc. What a laugh!!

Donald Trump is basically a LAUGH. First, look at his hairpiece. (ha) It might appeal to those in Iowa who own haystacks. It really does look like a haystack blowing in the wind. But then, Donald says he is such a good "businessman" ---- Yeah, if declaring bankruptcy 6 times (or more) is called good business practices. I think that proves some kind of Money Mismanagement, but heck, I am no Wall Street Wizard. And of course, Donald was STILL saying that Obama was not born in America and had a "false" birth certificate. Just a couple of months ago. Geez, I have never checked it out, but does anyone know if Donald has a college degree? Or what informs his great IQ? Maybe he gets "messages" from God? The same one that supposedly said that "God wants Geo "W" Bush, Jr --- to be President" ??? (revealed to a right-wing minister, just before "Junior" got elected, & proceeded to get us involved In IRAQ, & the most corrupt & costly WAR we have ever had). You gotta wonder sometimes, what church these guys go to? (666 ?)

Then it is amusing that Donald mentions that he can "build a wall." The only wall he has been building up is WALL STREET. And we all know that Republicans WANT the illegals to cross our borders, because it is Republican land-owners that want to HIRE them for minimum wages. That way, they can cheat American citizens out of those jobs, & not pay them FULL Wages. If the GOP were truly interested in building up a Wall on our US-Mexico border, they have shown NO interest in doing it through at LEAST 5 different Republican Administrations. (I guess they all suffer from Amnesia).

I think he should built that "wall" with his money ; not ours. May be then over 100 years tourist will come to visit the Trump Wall with his embedded mausoleum. Yes that's "god's will; I did call "it" on my "heavenly" phone; "it" approved my idea. (anyone wants that in writing? No problem)

Yes, I heartily agree. If the Republicans EVER want MY vote, they should VOLUNTEER to use their OWN money, to pay for the necessities we need in America, like new bridges, better defense for the borders, cleaner air & water, & keeping Obama-care for all senior citizens. They should actually try to create more REAL JOBS, here in America, instead of outsourcing them all to foreign places, just so they can hire people for "starvation" wages. They should quit wasting all OUR money on War Machines to sit rotting in some desert country across the globe. Maybe spend SOME of their $billions on getting some of their Congressmen an EDUCATION, so they won't look so totally "dumb" before the rest of the "educated" WORLD.

Don't forget, that much of their Billion$ in their personal Swiss Bank Accts belongs to US, the citizens of the USA, because they have looted our stock market, and our banks, and our military supplies, and anything else that is not nailed down. WE the PEOPLE of the United States of America, REFUSE to work for you Republicans, unless you PAY US special new salaries, based on the cost of living index. We REALIZE that in your special managerial jobs, you have always been PAID a highly inflated salary --- like a minor CEO can easily make $30 or $40 million. For what? Most of the time he does not even have to "show up" for work. (And that is because his "underpaid" secretary is doing all the work, anyway). Mostly, he schmoozes his rich Republican cronies on the phone, deciding what cocktails they will have for lunch, before they retreat to their all-afternoon Golf Course. They get to deduct that from their taxes, also, as "exercise required to maintain their robust executive Health." Before they later on retire to the Health Spa, where they get daily massages, tread mill activity, & the required Booze Binge. -- Not to worry, because their private chauffeur will be driving them home.

This rigorous "work routine" can be exhausting, you know, so they have to take multiple "vacations" per year, to keep in shape. Their executive package comes with several paid weeks of "leave" --- to visit exotic resorts in tropical paradise, or go moose hunting in Alaska, or go mountain climbing in the Swiss Alps. Whatever. Private yachts to go spear fishing are popular, & also the beach-side bikini watch. Comes with special scuba gear. But NOW we realize how stressed & over-worked our executives are, so they can't possibly have time to worry about their fellow men (or women). They just don't have time (or energy) to think about their employees, or their petty lives. Some are half-starving, trying to work their way thru college, or just hoping to buy their own car someday. But Republican bosses don't care -- they prefer we stay down-trodden hopeless creatures, so they can cheat us out of a decent way of life (& a decent salary). But here is the Best Revenge: GO VOTE, in EVERY ELECTION, & VOTE the DEMOCRATIC PARTY

Eternal; related to your last line; what happened in the mid-term elections? Your story did apply as well then; so you can scream that from the roof, but are the "dumb" indoctrinated Americans listening? Even the "voting" is corrupted here; senators/governors are being "bought" .So I doubt voting helps; saw some more idiotic things about this Bobby Jindal (R)? (an India type); that says enough.
