Well Lilith 218 I have to ask...how old are you?
You see, you raise this question while posting a pentagram as your pic and the name Lilith, which, as you may know according to Old hebrew myth was the first lover of of Adam, who was turned into a demon (by the big guy) because of her attempted dominance over adam (sexually) According to this old hebrew myth.......Lilith swore that she would come back and kill all the children in their sleep....The Lain word "Lulah avi" (something like this) meant..."LILITH BE GONE"...which later became a lullaby that parents sang to the children in order to protect from Lilith.
In saying that...................There is no God, there are no devils, demons, ghosts, allahs, buddahs or vooodoooo. Sleep better at night knowing this

In fact, I'm laughing while I post.....because the belief in any deity that loves you, hates you and wants all your money should speak for itself.
Have a nice pagan festivus in celebration of the first true sun god...MITHRA....for Dec. 25 also hapens to be his birthday

Lilith, may be you never read my threads, but I repeat; This tiny little planet is totally self contained; whatever may have created the universe and its zillion objects floating in it, is certainly not meddling in anything humans do; probably the "green blob" does not even know we exist. All "god's and churches originate and were brewed on this tiny globe by people who dictate the "whatever" on how "the blob" should treat us. Absolutely ridiculous. All the mess on this earth we do create that ourselves; there is no influence from anything out of outerspace. The universe will function perfectly without us. Bibles , Khorans etc. were written by humans alone; outerspace was not involved or supplied the ink. Once humans are extinct; bibbles are extinct as well.
So there is no "good" nor "bad" coming from outerspace; we do that all ourselves. Of course issues like cancer etc may be caused by our living environment but also not controlled by anything from outerspace; again restricted to this earth alone.

congrats to the creator of the thread. this is a question theologians have been pondering for millennia. and there is no answer for it. a truly involved god as claimed by judeo-christo-islamic religions wouldn't allow baseless suffering such as childhood cancers etc. but, imo, as i stated elsewhere god isn't like that. the writings of a semitic tribe to rationalize and justify their failures and successes are irrelevant to whatever there may be. the same applies to the so-called church fathers, the author(s) of the q'uran, the book of mormon, scientology etc, ad infinitum, ad nauseum. while there may be openly honest attempts to understand why we are here most are attempts to bolster a theology based upon greed, narcissism, tribalism, oppression of "the other", and justification of crimes such as theft of land and murder of innocent men, women and children.

we have been given a planet. we can choose how to live in harmony with nature and each other or we can create irrational "religions" and seek to impose our will over someone who doesn't worship in the correct manner. whatever the phucque that is.

J.C. when are you growing up? Faith teaches only pure nonsense; "good or bad" it is inherent as a human expression; nothing from up there controls or decides that; only people select/make that difference; even animals in nature do not know the difference.

If you read my post correctly you might have noticed the word "Choose" was used, that means a form of self control, faith , and as you seem to think is nonsense, and that having a belief or faith in something or someone some how makes that person an automaton, quite the contrary, it gives a purpose to one's life, to think that someone is greater than yourself is not nonsense, denying it is what is foolish. The problem arises when Man acts out what is not in his heart, man allows evil to settle in his heart and mind, and that usually starts with the denial of a Deity within their lives, so they no longer have a purpose other than self fulfillment no matter how hurtful it is to others.

J.C. plenty of people who claim to have "faith" commit the worst crimes; ask the Pope why he has to "clean" house. Anyway "whatever is up "there" does not know or uses these words anyway; only humans do.

I can claim that I am the Pope that doesn't make it so, it's the same with people who do evil things while proclaiming their Christianity, it's just not possible because as soon as they commit evil , they are no longer a Christian, The Pope is telling his Bishops who had started to behave in a secular way, to cease doing those things and go back to being pastors of their flocks, they were not doing evil, just not behaving in the manner that men of the cloth should behave .

Sorry J.C. sometimes you act like the Pope; don't worry all these Bishops get forgiven and have a place in "heaven. ( front row seats for sure.) Laughable indeed.
