Mostly about collective learning is how babies learn racism and bigotry. Although some child learning exhibits show where "they were born that way", which I believe is rare. Maybe there is genetics involved or an increased pattern of learning a specific way than others, such as in attitudes toward other children with differences. I believe that way of learning is a small percentage of children as compared to adults with a racist and bigot character. Again, as I have repeat saying, seeing how children develop in school, sports and in neighborhoods, it is not by their possibility of "being born that way", it is by peers and parents that alter their thinking. Children learn and adapt by what they see and experience. If they see racism, hatreds, and bigotry than they are often believing that is acceptable. What softens the accepting beliefs from racists and bigots are friendships and people they admire who are not racists and bigots. Social learning can be an adaptation for good rather than evil tendencies depending on environment and those around you. An example is like smoking where people around you smoke your entire life, so you smoke to be like them. You care less about the health implications as you care less about how racism, hatreds and bigotry impact society. You are like those around you, a herd mentality and lifetime learning caused by hate, racism and bigotry. What can prevent this toxic learning is a traumatic event, a loving experience, and a persons experience with whom they admire, than those racists, hatreds and bigotry are suppressed. We've all been around racists and bigots practicing their hatreds, but how many of you have spoke out against these evil traits? You most likely joined into the crowd as one of THEM. I liken the learning from others that spew out their hatreds as a disease that is contagious if you do not take a stand. Look at Trump spreading his hatreds and all the people in America buying into his hatreds. Here is a fine line if you see it before you, march with Trump you spread his disease of hatred, march with another political party or candidate and you can spread social harmony and improvement in destroying racism, bigotry and hatred of people different from yourself.

Schmidt, Environment Extra and Intra has more effect than recognized. I grew up in a coal mining town in the hills of eastern Ohio that was about 6 miles of twisty narrow roads from the nearest law enforcement. Strikes and layoffs were the norm. The main contact between adults and children was beatings. Wife beatings, racism, public drunkeness, infidelity, bar brawls, cheating, lying , stealing, gang banging ( sexual abuse of girls) , and anything else rotten you can think of was normal. At high school dances some of my buddies would keep owners of special cars busy while the rest of us would steal the car. Here is my personal experience of the Intra effect of the environment. The town, parents and school system were deprived. The first time they started vision checks was when I was in the 7th Grade. I couldn't read the biggest letter E with either eye. I had a reputation of being a smart aleck trouble maker and I remember my teacher Mrs. Keyser grabbing me and telling me to stop it and start reading the chart. Well I couldn't and it turns out my vision was 20/200 right eye and 20/170 left eye. So all the previous 6 grades when I couldn't read the blackboard they thought I was a disruptive smart aleck trouble maker that wouldn't read the blackboard. The reason I tell all of this is that it was the result of poverty. For awhile the country moved away from poverty but now it is rocketing back to worse conditions than ever. The Democratic Party has now taken the attitude of my grade school teachers. They don't recognize the problem, deny the problem, to selfish to deal with the problem or whatever. But the plight of the poor is "going to hell in a handbag" and the Democratic Party is not doing anything about it. The party is lighting a powder keg with environmental policies and gun control while the people they are supposed to represent are suffering more getting madder erupting daily ready to explode. Racism is not a solvable problem while the majority of people are increasingly polarized by denial of the right to make a good living. More idle time for people that have no money to do anything is disastrous.

I believe racism is a learned trait and not an inherited one, and as long as one can deny his or her own failures or life's status on something other than themselves , then we will have prejudice and racism, and as along as we have some people who think they are better than others or knows what is best for all, then will again have cause for racism / prejudice to flourish, the solution is as always has been education and not brainwashing/indoctrination.

Yes Chet; you've got the "picture"; indeed politicians live in another world and just want to score for themselves; poor people don't hand out medals.

I hope you'll consider watching my new video, "The Welfare Recipient." It's about racism, welfare, Jackie Robinson, Colin Kaepernick, Donald Trump. You will either love this video or hate it. Please leave your feedback either on here or in the comments! youtube.com/watch?reload=9&v=Rp34ctVIQtU

We have a manchild who is again fanning the flames or pouring more gas on the fire (racism) and he's even doubling down on his comments (tweets)

    msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trump-tells...

"President Trump said on Sunday that a group of four liberal Democratic congresswomen feuding with Speaker Nancy Pelosi should “go back” to the countries they came from rather than “loudly and viciously telling the people of the United States” how to run the government."

only one of the women, Ms. Omar, who is from Somalia, was born outside the United States. Ms. Ocasio-Cortez was born in the Bronx to parents of Puerto Rican descent. Ms. Pressley, who is black, was born in Cincinnati and raised in Chicago. And Ms. Tlaib was born in Detroit to Palestinian immigrants.

which shows how really ignorant he is, he called out 4 progressive democrats and told them to go back to their own countries, not knowing that only one congressperson came from abroad.

I almost have the inclination that someone is advising him wrongly, and telling him what to tweet or say, but I must be wrong, he probably is the person writing and saying the stuff.

I also happened to notice that a day after those nasty statements that no gop or republican members have called him out about it, one, Lindsey Graham has come out and supported trump's statements, and called the 4 congresspersons haters of America. Shit, why didn't he just call them terrorists? It's what he really meant.

Trump probably still believes that Puerto Rico is a foreign country.

Jake Tapper pointed out this morning that Ilhan Omar has been a citizen longer than Melanie Trump has been one. Melania became a citizen in 2006, a year AFTER she married "the Donald". Omar became a citizen in 2000, when she was 17 years old.

Oman's story is actually very inspirational. Her mother died when she was 2, so she was raised by her father and grandfather. After fleeing Somalia, she and her family spent FOUR YEARS in a refugee camp in Kenya. The family moved to New York in 1992, and finally secured asylum in the United States in 1995.

After Trump got roundly blasted for his comments, he took a predictable course of action.

He demanded that the 4 women he mentioned should apologize to HIM.

This is the only responsible response to that:

Yes an great answer; but won't help if no one tosses him out. The GOP has sunk totally into the swamp and is no longer an party which stands for anything, but "chaos". I've got the feeling that Himmler (Miller) is the instigator.

On July 13, Tennessee governor Bill Lee signed a bill declaring July 13 as "Nathan Bedford Forrest Day". Forrest was a slave owner and a slave trader, a Civil War general and (most importantly) the first Grand Wizard of the KKK.

I understand that Tennessee law requires that the governor must proclaim six days a year of "special observance", but the guy should have been smart enough to pick someone who was actually deserving of the honor. As a reminder, Martin Luther King was assassinated in Tennessee (Memphis) in 1968.

In case you have forgotten, Tennessee has the highest percentage of evangelical Christians of any state in the country.

    https://factsandtrends.net/2015/11/10/the-most-and-least-evangelical-states/

Trump got 60.7% of the vote in Tennessee in 2016, carrying 8 of the 10 counties in the state.

This morning, Steve Benson reminded us of the traditional signs of racism:

    https://www.gocomics.com/stevebenson/2019/07/15

This morning, Raw Story reminded us of the current proof of racism:

    https://www.rawstory.com/2019/07/former-aide-to-israeli-prime-minister-smacks-trump-upside-the-head-for-dragging-israel-into-his-racism-mess/?utm_source=push_notifications

Trump is not bothered at all by the criticism he is receiving because his racism is actually part of his re-election plans. It worked in 2016, so he feels it might work again in 2020.

What do you expect from from such States; they still live in 1800; ask McConnell and Alabama/Louisiana/Kentucky/ Mississippi etc. they will never enter 2019.

As well the "bully" in charge enjoys it and would have loved it if he could been an slave trader.

But as I've said before, the "dumb masses" here elected him; so all of this is an"self inflicted wound" because this country refuses to put proper election laws (without bribery "money" and get rid of an "electoral college") into the system.

Mitch McConnell (turtleface) says trump isn't a racist. Nothing to see there folks, move along now, move along....

A racist says another racist isn't a racist.

I'll remind people reading this post that McConnell's main objective when Obama was our president was to make him a one term president. youtube.com/watch?v=W-A09a_gHJc

Again an show of "racism". Eric Garner and big "black" man was murdered by an N.Y. policeman in an "choke hold".

Barr had the guts to call up and to let the "cop" free; if that is not "racism" then "what is"?

Both Barr , Miller and Trump are at the "top" of the racism "club"
