To all you guys and gals; I wish you a great holiday season; enjoy, don't over indulge; don't shoot anyone, neither Rudolf. Make sure your plastic babies in the front yard don't freeze and crack; stay away from the Cosby types and enjoy the eggnog by the barrel. If yr lucky then enjoy a real X-Mas movie, killing Uh Jong whatever. For New year, I guess 2015 will be wild indeed; the Catholic church is going to clean house; may me they find some loose coins in between the spilled popcorn; Marco Rubio is buying a huge villa on a Cuban beach; Mc Cain joins ISIS ( promised more money) and Obama will join the NYPD after his term expires. A huge event will happen in August; "Jesus" has been spotted behind the wheel of a Toyota working for Uber.
    Anyway have a fantastic time!!!

And just a polite reminder Dutch, Obama's term does NOT expire in 2015.

Happy Christmas Dutch and to all the members who write their opinions on this website. It's been a good year for heated debates, but did anyone change their views? I look for 2015 to be much like 2014...guns, God, and the "anti-Barack Obama tribe", which will continue to make headlines on anything Obama does or says.

Forget 2015, who are we going to beat up in the run up to the Nov. 2015 elections and in 2016 after Obama is gone?

The only difference is that now the Senate Democrats will be the ones filibustering whatever crazy right-wing legislation that makes it out of the House.

I don't think there will be too much filibustering since the rules have changed to a simple majority for ending the debate.

That's only for executive and judicial nominees with the exception of Supreme Court nominees. The filibuster is still in effect for everything else.

Now, Republicans can completely nuke the filibuster if they wish to, but that will almost surely come back to bite them square in the ass. President Obama could still veto everything they push through and the map is far less favorable to Republicans in 2016. What happens when they nuke the filibuster, still get nothing signed into law, and then see a Democratic takeover of the Senate and a Democratic President elected in 2016? They would pretty much kiss their majority on the Supreme Court goodbye. I don't think Senate Republicans are that stupid, but who the hell knows?

    Oh...and Happy Holidays everyone.
