You might have noticed something today if you were able to catch the entirety of President Obama's annual 'pre-Christmas vacation press conference.' No, he didn't wear a tan suit or commit a career ending gaffe. What he did do is take eight questions from eight female reporters. Not a single male reported was called upon. It has never happened before in our nations history and it is impossible to not understand that this was deliberate.

I honestly didn't notice that he was only calling on female reporters until his fifth question or so. That is when I noticed that he hadn't called on a male reporter yet. Then he called on two more women after that. And then said he was taking his final question and called on one more female reporter who asked him about race relations in America. It was great political theater that, if you were watching closely, upset more than one male reporter in the room.

It is absolutely wonderful that the President did this. Men have dominated the profession for decades and it was a breath of fresh air to see the President deliberately exclude them from the process today. I'm sure a whole lot of old 'traditional values' men might disagree with me, but I thought it was one of the best press conferences I have ever seen.

One of the last reporters had no idea what she was talking about regarding Cuba. Obama had to coach her a little bit. He kept asking that she be more specefic. She had no clue.... so why ask about the Cuban 5? Some of these reporters...damn, you would think are more knowledgeable about current events.....this is their job.

If I compare the news reporting in Europe or here, then indeed you are correct; a lot of these reporters have never been outside the US except may be on holidays and have no clue; sorry the US is an isolated island.

That's because their not reporters, they are personalities and/or pretty faces who are just following the script. Most of them are just dumb opportunists that will say or do anything to further their own agendas, I.e. make more money. Now that it think about it, which is worse - the interviewer or the interviewiee?

And that's okay when you view that Goddess on "the five" or our local weather girl "Jackie".......God has blessed us with their beauty. Who am I to deny God his art work of perfection?

    Astute and interesting observations.....
Perhaps this is his way of saying it is time for a female leader of our country?
The Warren-Clinton situation becomes front page news everywhere. The Boston Globe this morning headlined it. It was interesting to read that expectations for Hilary's book sales have not been met, her speaking engagements are not as well attended as expected, and she is now "making friends" with Warren, as mentioned in the article.
