TPM, December 12, 2014: Tea Partiers Protest At White House: 'Hang The Lying Kenyan Traitor'

"Tea partiers shouted obscene, racist chants on Wednesday while gathered outside of the White House to protest President Obama's executive actions on immigration."

"Hang the lying Kenyan traitor!" one protester could be heard saying in the video.
"Plenty of trees in the front yard," another said. "Wouldn't be the first one hung on one of them trees."
    "We've got rope," said another.
"Don't snap his neck, you pull him up watch him choke to death," someone else said.

The rally was organized to show support for a group of sheriffs voicing opposition to Obama's executive actions on immigration reform. The rally was poorly attended with only about two dozen protesters in attendance. I wonder if this was more about Obama than immigration.

I guess hate speech is protected under the First Amendment, but when do they cross the line?

I remember on how WWII started in Europe; hang the Jews. I guess we've totally forgotten, but as a country are moving rapidly in the same direction. Just look at the CIA torture report etc.

Gee Whiz --- even I did not think they were THAT crazy & stupid. Who is guarding Obama? And Who is out there trying to talk some SENSE to that crowd of imbeciles & misfits? Where is the Secret Service? And now, isn't there any LIMIT to the Bircher/ Tea Party insanity? (Time to get the butterfly nets).

I read the article and it's terrible but it also says there were only about 2 dozen of them, surely you don't that think the entire Tea Party thinks like this based on those 24 or so cretins, this sounds more like a group of a radical right wing branch or a bunch of White Supremist's.

Yes it was only about two dozen. However, I would suggest that a lot of this kind of hate rhetoric is becoming "group think"...right wing populism where a few more passionate people entice the others to go along. It's easily done when hate trumps critical thinking.

I liken this type of thinking to the same class of low life's who hijacked a legitimate protest in regards to Mr. Brown and turned into a completely different type of protest, one of violence and ante-government sentiment's, which turned away a lot of true supporters.

There are some strange things going on, behind the scenes. We know the Tea Party has lots of folks off their rocker, but it also would be easy for somebody else to hijack their enthusiasm into some other more sinister cause. If the Koch Bros really do finance the Tea Party, then their agenda may be even much worse than we can imagine. (They got their money from Russia, you know). Look at Putin's latest moves --- not so friendly, are they?
