Well, it's starting to look like the cop told the truth in light of this newly disclosed evidence. They have some black witnesses that confirm the altercation. The Police Officer from my understanding was aware of the incident at the liquor. He called in asking the for an update and wanting to know if cops needed assistance.

So I guess "HOOD MENTALITY" was the initial cause of the encounter and also the reason for his death.

The Black community is going to want to riot anyway. WAHHHHHHHHHHHH

This kid played a 50 percent role (if not more) in contributing to his own demise. I concur

This is not true. He stopped the two for jaywalking, which we all know is a Class A felony. Recently released police tapes also show that Wilson was unaware of the cigars when he initially stopped Brown. What evidence are you aware of that states otherwise?

Regardless of whether Wilson knew he stole the cigars or not, since when did petty theft become a crime punishable by death?

So walking while black is now a 'hood mentality'?

I whole heatedly disagree. Brown was stopped for walking while black. If he were white then a cop would have never stopped him for the heinous crime of jaywalking in a neighborhood street. Our cops are out of control in this country and you are justifying cold blooded murder because Brown was jaywalking?

The moment at which he gets into the cofrontation/struggle a "what if" situation is taking place. What if he shoots me? what if he takes my gun and shoots someone else? He can car jack someone etc..etc..

Now...I grew up in East Los Angeles and South Central .......you have no idea what takes place down there. Whatever common sense you grew up with doesn't apply in the hood. There is no common sense. I saw the fear in cops by the way they initiated police stops.

I do not and never will support the police as an agency. In fact I've been a recipient of their nonsense....but I call a duck a duck whenit applies.

I saw hood mentality in the Liquor store. He was a bad ass dude to the store clerk....Wasn't he tough. And now look. Don't think for one second that he was acting responsibly when he got pulled over. I saw what a great citizen he was in the store.

Please remove your rainbow coalition banner for a moment. I get it...your'e a liberal. But you are speaking on issues youv'e never experienced

I was a social worker in inner city Chicago for five years before I moved out to Oregon. My white skin may have saved me from personally experiencing police harassment, but I witnessed my fair share of over zealous cops harassing black and brown people for no reason other than being black or brown.

I was a social worker in the inner city for five years. Trust me--I have plenty of firsthand experiences of witnessing crooked police. My white skin may have saved me from personally experiencing the harassment of police, but I witnessed my fair share of over zealous cops harassing black and brown people for no reason other than being black or brown.
Jared....that's just the way it is and has been. Like I said..Voters are STUPID.

Growing up in a bad situation is supposed to enlighten you to a few things. "Street Smarts'". There's always that guy who's going to do it his way. I've seen it all my life. We would call these individuals "train wrecks" and "walking statistics"

Years ago, a friend of mine "Raymond" This guy wouldn't harm a fly. But, when he drank he thought he was speed racer. One night after drinking he refused to pull over by LAPD...... probably because he was drinking. He took them on a high speed chase which eventually led to him being shot over 36 times.

The LAPD claimed he tried to ram them with his car after hitting a road block that initially brought his car to a halt. They claim he was able to start the vehicle and try to speed into a policeman. I never believed that because of the way everyone knew him,,,,,, but it is what it is. If Raymond had just pulled over he may still be alive. He didn't....he was a party to his own death

L.A. You have your opinion but it's just that - Your Opinion. Your life may have given you an insight to the way things happen but it doesn't stop me from having my opinion which is very different.
One guy had a gun. The kid was stupid - no doubt - but that shouldn't equal a death sentence. I think it was police brutality. The cop could have shot the kid without killing him. If the kid had a gun I would agree / bad move. This was just a scared cop using too much force to solve a problem. Shoot the kid in both legs. I bet he stops then. No wait a couple head shots and I'm out of here. 7 shots hit the kid - previously they thought 6 but a couple of nights ago they reported it was in fact 7.

You are 100 percent correct. Only one person had a gun. And that kid knew it. So why play the hood game? Any person with a brain knows you can't win that fight. Submit, ask for a field supervisor, and then file charges. This could have went a hundred different ways. That kid chose the way.

The kid is thinking "they know about the store incident" and his reaction prooved that....to me. As soon as there was a scuffle, that kids life is over. The police are not my friend, when they pull us over and there's no reason for it....well then....you know what it is. I've been stopped by gun point many times growing up. We have been pulled over...everyone out of the car and laying face down on the pavement....for absolutely no reason other than to be screwed wth......Biut those are the rules in the ghetto.....FAIR???? are you kidding me. It is what it is.

The police are not trained to shoot in the leg. They are not friends. Theres a reason they fuck with us. They are in control and have the authority to kill you.

That's the thing...he was a damn kid! We might look at 18 year old's as adults in the legal system, but they are not grown men who fully understand the decisions they are making at the time.

I look back at myself as an 18 year old and how much I've grown during the thirteen years since then. I will undoubtedly grow more as time goes on.

I don't know how I would have reacted to this situation if I were an 18 year old who has grown tired of being hounded by the police on a constant basis. A police force, mind you, that has a long documented history of blatant racism in Ferguson. Who are we to judge why he didn't just say 'yes Mr. Police Officer who is stopping me for walking while black, I'll do whatever you want'?

He was a damn kid and Wilson knew it. Wilson stopped him for walking while black. Wilson decided to shoot and kill an unarmed teenager. And Wilson will have to live the rest of his life in fear because of that terrible decision he made. I would almost think he would rather spend some years in prison because his entire life is now changed. He will never be able to work again in Ferguson, or Missouri, or anywhere else. And I say good. Cops like him need to get off the street. There's way too many cops like Wilson in this country who shoot first and ask questions later.

And I completely agree with you

But we live in a very unfair world and I'm just a participant. Kids today better be on their toes. Nobody's playing today....especially the cops. I have no idea what these kids today are thinking. They must think life is a video game.

Once again, I hate cops, but I understand the rules of the game......THEY WIN
This kid was playing "gangsta" as so many of them do.....Gangsters are idolized thru movies, music, and video .....His failure to understand these rules is evident. There's no coming back from the dirt nap

Agreed..................................... I just hate how the cops keep getting a blank check to continue doing the same damned thing. When is society going to challenge them and say, Hey, ya can't just keep killing people because you were afraid...... and people in the ghetto shouldn't have to walk on egg shells because you just never know when a cop is going to decide to kill you...... Crazy freaking world. I would love to have seen Wilson go to trial. Let a jury decide his fate. At least then Wilson might have had to answer some questions. Correction - you don't have to testify against yourself. It all isn't fair. I wonder if we'll ever see the day when it's a white kid who's shot by a black cop and see how many protest then........

Maybe I'm not understanding this but on the news for a second time I heard that a call did go out about two black males stealing swisher sweets (cigars); that the officer was aware of the theft.

Also, right before the shooting he calls in requesting a second unit. Why call in for another unit for jay walking stop? Why do you need assistance?
