Kay Hagan lost the race last night against competitor Thom Tillis. The final results were 49% Tillis with 1,412,865 votes, and 47% Hagan with 1,364,623 votes. She started off the race strong with almost a 6 point lead, then took a quick and significant leap to the losing side towards the end. So what does this mean for North Carolina now? Although I would love to say it will not be as good as Hagan's run, I'm really not sure at all. And considering I am a NC resident myself, after the results my mind changed quickly from , "Tillis will not do anything good for NC atall". To, "Well... I sure hope he does better than Hagan".

After Tillis won the race he promptly Tweeted, "This is not my victory – this is your victory. You've all been an extension of my family and worked so hard. Thank you, North Carolina.".

My pessimistic side wants to say to just let them have at it. You want to be left alone? You got it. The South sucks off the Federal Government's teat more than any other part of the country. Crazy how they are the same ones who constantly say how much they hate the Federal Government and want to be left alone. Why don't we just let them have their way and let them figure out how much they are dependent on the liberals who keep having to subsidize their lives because they constantly vote against their better interests? That's my frustrated/angry side coming out though...

The Dems deserve a lot of the blame. Most refused to even acknowledge Obama, much less his achievements. They stuck their head in the sand and deserved to lose. Unfortunately we all lost, however.
