One of the bright sides of Tuesday's election is that West Virginia has elected its first female Senator with Shelley Moore Capito (R).

The Senate has historically been a men's club. More variety is a welcome change.

But it isn't the difference between male and female that matters. It is the difference between predators (R) and prey (D). There are just as many female predators (bullies) out there in the schoolyard as there are male predators. Looking at genders (or any other distinctions or issues) is a form of distraction from the real game played in nature: predator vs., prey, and the predators play distraction to the hilt.

Welcome to the Democratic Hub! I look forward to discussing a variety of topics with you moving forward.

I agree with you in context, but I'd probably choose to use different terms in describing the two parties and their philosophies.

It is wonderful that more women and minorities are being elected to our Congress. I have to applaud the Republicans for being able to get so many elected this cycle, but I agree that it doesn't give them a pass just because they are women or minorities. Women Republicans can be just as crazy as men Republicans and minority Republicans can be just as crazy as white Republicans. Their message is still the same; their positions are the same; and the result will be the same. Good for them for at least getting some people who aren't old, white men elected though. We do have to give them some credit for that.
