What do you stand for that promotes life, liberty and the pursuit of Justice? Apparently, not much if you continue to persecute those that have faith. Nazism is closer to your belief than what you think, especially when you profess taking someone else's freedoms.

North Korea places restrictions on religion, which sounds like your place of a home. If religion is such a torment to you than why do you bother remaining in this country? Apparently, since religion does more good around the world, you don't want to recognize the contribution. Just who are the people (Doctors & nurses) that are coming back from west Africa having symptoms of Ebola? The news media reports they are part of religious groups providing help around the world............it's called, "Heal the sick". Just what healing do you do? Do you feed the hungry with your time and resources? Have you built a house for the poor? Have you went out during a frozen night and handed out water to drink, food to eat, and a blanket for warmth to the homeless?

Religion provides many soldiers in God's Army for the goodness and spreading hope around the world. I continue to have difficulty in figuring out why people are so disconnected from what goodness religion brings to society. Groups that are not religious are not numerous enough to do the same work that religious groups do. Those without faith appear more to have problems with helping people because they do not commit and think only of themselves. I've seen man times on this Hub responses that indicate people should be self sustaining, which is another way of saying, "people in need don't deserve help". That is so selfish and inhumane. Religion will continue and we will preserve our rights to our faith with our blood as it has been done historically on many battlefields. It's not nice to threaten our faith, but we will pray for you constantly.

    May God Bless you all!
Like I said many times; indeed you are free to live in la la land and keep on halucinating etc. No thanks, I do not want to be blessed by you; do me a favor and "pray" for yourself, that one day you get some common sense and reality in your head.
Dutch, I have to wonder if some of these people are still hanging on to Dr. leary's mind enhancing methods from the 60's? Please pass the mushrooms ;)
Also AMC's statement ......many soldiers in God's army....... Did you know that they had army's way up there?; this is new for me; AMC must be a "godly general" by now...... on the many battlefields........ he's talking about; may be I can use my telescope and follow the "battles" on Orion.

'Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion'... These are the first words of the very first amendment of our Constitution. Our founders are most likely rolling over in their graves after seeing how religious our Government became. No one is saying that religion doesn't have a place in our society. We are saying it doesn't have a place in our Government! You have every right to go to whatever church you desire. You do not have a right to use the functions of our Government to force that religion upon everyone else.

You are conflating the Declaration of Independence with our Constitution. You might want to study up on our founding documents a little more...

Calling people who want a secular nation, as our Constitution mandates, Nazi's is lunacy. Seriously. This is just nuts.

We stay in this country because we have every damn right to stay in this country. We want to change this country for the better. We want to make our Government actually follow the Constitution it is tasked with following. You have every right to worship whatever deity you wish; Atheist's have every right to not worship anything at all; Shamans have every right to communicate with the spirits they wish to communicate with; Jew's have every right to follow the Torah; Muslims have every right to follow the Koran; and agnostics have every right to not know what the hell they think. And all of us have every right to not have our Government pick winners and losers when it comes to what God or Devil to worship.

I take personal offense to this statement. How dare you tell me that I don't want to help people because I think only of myself? I was a social worker at a group home for over five years. I volunteer many hours of my time at soup kitchens, the Boy's and Girl's Club, mentoring children in group homes, and helping the homeless. Who are you to stand on your high horse and say that only Christian people are good people? People like you make me sick.

This almost tops my, "Things Christians say to make themselves feel holier than thou" list. To even consider saying a statement like this seems to be awfully close to passing your judgment. Due to 'Luke 6:37': Do not judge, and you will not be judged; and do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; pardon, and you will be pardoned. But seeing as your such an amazing soldier in Gods army, you wouldn't do such a thing as pass judgment right? No, not a strong believer such as yourself.

This is the problem I have with most religions. Especially Christianity. The hypocricy is astonishing. I suggest before you say something so amazingly close minded, to consider, just maybe, you don't have to be a follower of a Church organization to be a "good person". I myself have never been associated with any religion. But believe it or not I have been a VOLUNTEER Fire Fighter (that's right, i risked my own life to save others for FREE), Also saved several people's life as an EMT, literally locked people in my home to get them clean from drugs, and I even hold to door open for little old ladies at the super market. I can go on and on about the things I've done in my life to help people. Can you? And no, the $20 you give every weekend to the basket does not count.

The thought that Christianity builds into it's followers is that all others who do not commit themselves to their way go to hell, is an unquestionable example of immediate judgment. So if you ask me, Christians are faster to judge other people and think more of themselves than anyone. And no that's not to say all Christians are self centered people. I have met hundreds of great great Christians, including one pastor who just about saved my life. I would NEVER generalize a whole population of people in the negative way you have. And I am non-religious and you are... What exactly does that tell you?

But you're right. Since I am without faith of your God I "have problems with helping people because I do not commit, and only think for myself".

Jared; I fully agree on what you wrote; being democratic is hopefully having an open mind and hopefully common sense as well accepting worldly reality. The pity is in this country versus Europe is the continuous indoctrination which works like an hard drug here.
