I've seen man times on this Hub responses that indicate people should be self sustaining, which is another way of saying, "people in need don't deserve help". That is so selfish and inhumane. Religion will continue and we will preserve our rights to our faith with our blood as it has been done historically on many battlefields. It's not nice to threaten our faith, but we will pray for you constantly.
May God Bless you all!
This almost tops my, "Things Christians say to make themselves feel holier than thou" list. To even consider saying a statement like this seems to be awfully close to passing your judgment. Due to 'Luke 6:37': Do not judge, and you will not be judged; and do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; pardon, and you will be pardoned.
But seeing as your such an amazing soldier in Gods army, you wouldn't do such a thing as pass judgment right? No, not a strong believer such as yourself.
This is the problem I have with most religions. Especially Christianity. The hypocricy is astonishing. I suggest before you say something so amazingly close minded, to consider, just maybe, you don't have to be a follower of a Church organization to be a "good person". I myself have never been associated with any religion. But believe it or not I have been a VOLUNTEER Fire Fighter (that's right, i risked my own life to save others for FREE), Also saved several people's life as an EMT, literally locked people in my home to get them clean from drugs, and I even hold to door open for little old ladies at the super market. I can go on and on about the things I've done in my life to help people. Can you? And no, the $20 you give every weekend to the basket does not count.
The thought that Christianity builds into it's followers is that all others who do not commit themselves to their way go to hell, is an unquestionable example of immediate judgment. So if you ask me, Christians are faster to judge other people and think more of themselves than anyone. And no that's not to say all Christians are self centered people. I have met hundreds of great great Christians, including one pastor who just about saved my life. I would NEVER generalize a whole population of people in the negative way you have. And I am non-religious and you are... What exactly does that tell you?
But you're right. Since I am without faith of your God I "have problems with helping people because I do not commit, and only think for myself".
