Darrell Issa, the Congressional representative from California's 49th district, is also the Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. In that capacity, he's wasted hundreds of hours and millions of dollars, investigating the false "scandals" of Fast and Furious, the IRS, and Benghazi. This week, he's stepped up criticism of the Obama administration's handling of the Ebola "crisis". If you'll review his bio, you'll note that he has investigated just about anything that's remotely connected to the Obama administration.

As you're aware, more people have been married to Kim Kardashian than have died of Ebola in America, but apparently the "chicken little" response is alive and well in the ranks of a lot of Republicans

In the meantime, 49,000 Americans die each year from the flu, 32,000 people are killed each year by firearms, 500,000 people die each year from heart disease, and 10,000 people each year die in DUI crashes. ALL of these, of course, could be reduced through a variety of common sense precautions or better law enforcement.

According to a variety of sources, Issa is by far the richest member of Congress, with an estimated net worth of approximately $450 million. He has represented what is now the 49th district since 2001, but his most recent victory (in 2012) was his narrowest margin of victory to date. Since he's up for re-election again in a couple of weeks, our best chance of returning some sanity in Congress would be for the voters in the 49th to finally come to their senses, and toss this guy out of office. Unfortunately, the Democratic challenger (Dave Peiser) came in a distant 2nd in this year's June primary.

Guy, I guess you did not know we live in la la land; people are to lazy to think for themselves, so only follow the famous US news media owned by a couple of billinairs gets attention; so people believe all the hype. If you would have noticed Ebola is now number one, all the dead palestinians are out of the news, as well Ukraine and even Isis is no longer important. That is how it works here.

I just ordered a contamination suit so if I ever decide to leave my house for a few moments I won't get "ebolaized" . If you don't hear from me for The next 21 days it means it didn't work and I'm in quarantine at the local house of pizza.

PGR, Sorry to say; burn your protective suit and instead buy a bullet proof vest and watch out for 9 year olds with an Uzi; they are much more dangerous.

Say, I wonder if exotic animals can get Ebola? If not, we could put the "quarantined" doctors & nurses into the Zoo for a certain period, where they could enjoy the jungle environment of most modern zoos, with rain forests & waterfalls & fresh food provided daily. They could see other people thru the glass windows or screens, so they wouldn't be too lonely. And the media could keep watch on their good treatment.

Yeah, I know --- it is just a JOKE. But maybe somewhere in there -- an idea or 2 that could be imagineered...

It would be better than an unheated tent with no washing facilities that Guv Tubbie in NJ felt was ok.

I don't think the other "zoo" animals would like that; also Mr. J would not approve of such from his non thinking ashes.

But somewhere as Guy said we all came forth from monkeys so we all belong in a huge "zoo" which is called "world" ; the rest of the universe just stares at us through a huge microscope and laughs like crazy about what these tiny monkeys are doing.
