Today in South Carolina (the south), a man (an African American) was pulled over for not wearing a seat belt. The trooper asked him for his license. He tried to get it out of his car and he was shot. Another unarmed man shot by a white officer. After being shot, the victim was very polite (still) while asking why he was shot.

As L.A. Citizen would have said, "Damned dirty cops/patrolmen"
Why are all in law enforcement afraid of people of color ?

For those who know how to post a link, the whole incident was filmed on the patrolman's Dash Cam. It shows the guy doing everything that he was told before getting shot. Story was just discussed on CNN by Anderson Cooper.

This just horrible, I have no words other than those, I know of no reason why this man was shot other than this officer for some reason or another was in fear of his life, I hope the man didn't die from his injuries or suffer any permanent disability, but it doesn't negate the horror of this .

Time to re-educate a lot of cops about what their job really is about and then take their weapons away. They get away with murder on a daily basis and have next to no accountability for it.

    JC,
I would love it if you could see the video. No reason for the polite man to be shot. He didn't even disagree with the patrolman until he was shot. Even then he was still respectful and polite. An analyst on CNN said that maybe the guy should have said....You asked me for my license, I am going to get that out of my vehicle, is it alright if I do that ?. Making his every move announced so the patrolman would have no reason to feel fear. I'm hoping somebody posts the video (I can't seem to do that), but a picture ('s) is worth a thousand words.

Hopefully the above link will work. I typed it out.

It seems to. Article says the trooper was fired. It lists what he's accused of. He could ultimately be sentenced to up to 20 years. Imagine.... being responsible for what you do or did......

I guess like I said many times before: It is the infliux of ex-military and the military training; which is wrong in this country. It should be an civilian job done by civilians as is done in other civilized countries. They learn to shoot on"torso's and heads" only, as my neighbor the policeman admits, which is pure military training.

    JC,
No the guy did not die. The patrolman shot 4 times. Hit the guy once in the hip. The story is explained and a video shown in the above link.
The officer was fired and is being charged with aggravated assault. He could get up to 20 years.

I watched the video and it does not change my thoughts on the matter ,it still is a horrible act and this now ex-law enforcement officer should be tried and held accountable in both a Court of Criminal Law and along with any Civil Law suits arising from his actions.

Remember when people felt safe when the police were around ?
I hope that we can return to those feelings.
I realize that it's natural to protect yourself from being killed, however, if you think first..... guy pulled over for no seat belt....
maybe your life is not in jeopardy.
