Alright, I agree with you Dutch that we should never forget the civilians killed in Iraq or Afghanistan. Both were ugly parts of an unnecessary set of wars.
Back to the topic. 'mericans were beheaded. They say on the news that they may have an identity of the Brit who appeared in the videos. If caught, what will be done with him ? I can't see sending him to Gitmo or even to the US for a trial. He won't be beheaded, we don't do that. My guess is a few bullets into the head. The first 2 for justice, the next one ('s) to make sure the job is complete. Just my opinion.

ISIS is trying to create a response...Our return to Iraq is What they want...and "THEY" are backed...so cutting off their funding is a bit of Propaganda...the trail of money is a winding road with a whole lot of side-streets... If any impact was felt it was in ISIS' attempts to create NEW income...

ISIS isn't trying to establish a permanent home...that would mean taking off their masks...their mission is to create the reasoning for the US RETURNING to IRAQ...There is no GREAT NUMBERs in ISIS...there is no extensive leadership base...these are MERCS...and they're NOT homegrown...Consider the growth of organized crime in the US...it is SUBTLE and it avoids notoriety until it is firmly established ...ISIS isn't trying to slink in through the back door...they're kicking down the front door...and they're COUNTING on "USEFUL IDIOTS" to continue speaking about them...

Yes, you've got the picture; indeed drag us into the quakmire that is what they want; like I said many times "fly swatting" all over the globe by our drones only creates more of these bugs , not less. So I guess it is time to review all our actions accross the globe.

It's very obvious that ISIS is conducting a crash course for genocide and has the motto, "Convert or be killed". This mentality will never work because it is only attractive to those who are lame in character and want to glorify their miserable existence with carrying a gun being able to take out their frustration on "anybody". So, ISIS gives them the opportunity and a world dominating goal.

I have recently realized the continued growth in alliance with NATO and some Middle East nations that have a urgent concern on ISIS. I see in the media where NATO is not only getting more involved with the eastern Europe issue, but also the ISIS contamination that threatens their part of the world. Talks are succeeding with arming rebels and security against ISIS, but I am not fond of arming more rebels and other countries that have been at odds with the free world.

Will there be some more "shock & awe" campaigns? Probably, but with NATO involvement. Will there be US troops on the ground? Probably, but with NATO involvement. Will there be more drone attacks? Definitely, with or without NATO involvement. ISIS has a doomed future because of their genocidal mentality. Genocide does not sanction humanity on any playing field. I suspect ISIS will suffer a large defeat somewhere and they will crawl back into their dark hole someplace to awake sometime if the far future. I believe we will never destroy ISIS completely, but we can sure take their backbone out and sever some heads of leadership. I am so against the political world on this ISIS issue that I criticize why America and our allies are taking so damn long to wipe out the ISIS regimes. It brings me back to the Halliburton interference and involvement with IRAQ that makes me think, is corporate values forcing our politicians to stall on ISIS? We have the means, we have the power, we have the opportunity, just muster all the forces with NATO and go in there and take care of business.

    God Bless the Free World!

I absolutely doubt that any "god" (if it exists including Jesus and Mohammed) would bless "what" free world? Sorry you will not be free of corrupt politicians or corporations, let alone the NRA. Your eagerness to wipe out ISIS and criticism on Obama not moving fast enough, again makes me think you are a Republican.
Sorry jumping into a wasps nest without looking at it from all sides and consequences is finally a smart thing to do. Therefore slow but sure; knowing what to do instead of only showing off brute force, like we've done in all the other wars we lost should be a lesson. You are still living in the 1960's I guess when we got kicked out of Vietnam and lost, regardless of brute force, napalm, agent orange, B52's , navy ships etc. You will never learn; nor the warhawks I guess.

    @ Dutch

You take the topic beyond its logical limits...We aren't the reason THEY act in the manner they do ... that is a CHILD's motivation....and MONEY.. is made in a lot of ways...by people who care NOTHING about RELIGION or Nations or SOCIAL/ECONOMIC/GOVERNMENTAL constructs...

Let's just suppose that a Country essentially dissolved..and what was left was a portion of its former self...so that under the guise of a LAWFUL election...an ORGANIZED CRIME leader took power..The organization that he is the head of...is NOT the COUNTRY that he heads up...it is the Syndicate that he leads not the Nation that he is loyal to.....He maintains APPEARANCES...while his organization guides anonymous groups to accomplish his maneuverings by PROXY...

Now let's assume ...lest you were under the impression I was referring to Msr. Putin...that there was never a particular Country nor the dissolution of a Nation...nor even a single individual ultimately behind it all....

You continue to THINK ONLY in terms of NATIONS and RELIGIONS...as if they were a CONSTANT and ultimate motivators...which makes your view no more enlightened than the "Flag Waivers" The predictability of a US response is not nearly as obvious as the actions of individuals who believe in 40 virgins upon death....

If one is NEITHER a descendant of Abraham, nor a member of a International Convention...they can play with the pieces on BOTH sides of the CHESS BOARD.But You assume that this thought has never occurred to anyone else...that the fact that we did respond proves we weren't mindful of this scenario...

Since the mid 1980's we have reduced the Military to less than half it's size...we even had a fomer Secretary of State/Secretary of Defense offer the concept of Army 'Lite'...What he ultimately proved...was that we cannot reduce force strength any further...that we must tackle the restructuring of our Military....The EXAMPLES of the past are not portents to the future...they occurred under completely separate social climes...economic constraints and cultural identities... and accepting the premise that this is a different animal than we have heretofore faced means that you can't project the appropriate response any more than History can.

Suggest you read my reply under: a great day at sea........; your reply shows an typical "indoctrinated" response. Just wait; my predictions will be correct; our medding in the world will become unsustainable in the end; our new escapades in Iraq will make us even more broke than we are. But keep on flag waving; you've got my blessing. This nation will also come in the history books as the most arrogant ever which will be its undoing; so be proud of it. Since I come from Europe, I still get the uncensored news; everything here is censored and "focussed" in one direction; if you did not notice that, is because you are already indoctrinated because of your Navy service etc.. Do you really think " the military is half its size?" Sure it may be personel wise (makes it look good) but the cost has only increased; we've got many more places on this world where we do "something" which costs huge piles of money; you think it is all for free? But enjoy 9/11 "indoctrination" day!!!

I read your reply...and YOU DIDN'T ANSWER THE QUESTION.....and you won't....because that would involve FACTS and FIGURES you've NEVER HAD....and effort in supporting your opinion is something you expect of others but would NEVER bother with for your own....You've decided to imply that you're European....though your Bio says that you're from Florida...this is a DODGE...because I don't care where you're from ..I don't care what perspective you gain from receiving unnamed European periodicals...you still have not and WILL not support your position...

I repeatedly correct your assertions to the point of concession... and yet you continue with general criticism and bleak prognostication as if the validity of your inspecific and indefinite HOPE for the future means anything ... I tell you there are a myriad of examples of F,W & A we could pursue...you ignore it....You want to push your position...FINE...

    ANSWER THE QUESTION

The latest on the news; which I mentioned before: " The US commits and act of agression if it attacks targets in Syria, without approval from the UN."
Of course (my feeling) Russia will veto this anyway. Furthermore it is a weapons supplier to Assad.

Looking at this picture, as well the new sanctions towards Russia; I've got the "dark" notion that Russia will supply the same "ground to air" missiles, which downed Flt 17. as revenge for our sanctions. So what will happen when "someone" by accident gives that to ISIS; Kaboom F15's!!

May be I'm dreaming, but the mess there will only get bigger and bigger; at a given moment Israel and Iran may jump into the game, then the real fun will start. Let's make a movie!!
Also on the news Saudi Arabia and others are very hesitant to get involved; I doubt other moderate Arabic countries want to stick their head into this mess; leave it to the "yankee's" to clear up their own created pigsty.
But I bet there will be for sure more surprises to come!!
