San Francisco was awaken to its biggest earthquake in 25 years, injuring dozens and causing an untold amount of damage. The wine country of Napa was hit the hardest hit by the early morning earthquake that registered 6.0 in magnitude. Dozens of people were injured and firefighters are still trying to put out a number of fires caused the quake. Broken gas lines and and water line breaks are only exasperating the clean up process. Thea area hasn't experienced an earthquake this large since 1989 when a 6.9 magnitude earthquake struck.

Governor Brown declared a state of emergency in the region and has ordered emergency personnel to ensure every victim is accounted for.

Earthquakes are a normal part of life for those living along the 'ring of fire,' but there are still a big deal whenever they happen. The one silver lining about today's earthquake is that there are zero reports of any causalities as of yet. We can only be grateful that the tremor was located outside of a major population center where the buildings are smaller and the population is less dense.

Were any of our members awaken to today's earthquake? What was your experience like?

While San Francisco was spared major damage, Napa Valley was not nearly as lucky. Many wineries have lost some of their best wines, which is something that no insurance check will be able to pay for.

Sorry but I saw the footage. This is a non story to me. Nobody was killed. Damage seems not outrageous. Thank goodness everyone is alright.

I understand your concerns Schmidt, I too await a shortage in CA. wines, especially with the coming of two big eating holidays on the horizon.

"Eating holidays????" Never heard of that; must be something for the people who never eat, or the "fat ass" people as in Duck Dynasty.
No I prefer "wine drinking" holidays; I hope my favorite afiernoon apperitative is still alive; otherwise like PGR, I'll make my own!!

Two major eating holidays , Thanksgiving and Christmas followed by wine drinking, granted these are Christian holidays but what the hell, it's another reason to drink some good wine . BTW, I really don't need a reason, but the what hell.

I guess it must be an mis-understanding; how can you sit all day in church and then eat like hell, is it the bad taste of church which makes you eat and gobble up a whole poor turkey shot by an AK47 commie gun?

Number one I don't sit in church all day on Thanksgiving and I don't eat like hell, I guess you mean being a glutton, but anyway I don't do either one of your assumptions, the same way during Christmas, I don't do midnight mass on Christmas Eve nor do I go to church on Christmas Day, unless it is a Sunday, and again I don't eat like hell on that day either, now as for turkeys being shot with an AK47, there wouldn't be much left of the bird to cook, unless of course it was shot with a single shot from a rifle, which pretty much blows up your theory of shooting turkeys with an AK47.
