Something new, not all news is bad news.
I would imagine most if not all people have seen the new trend which is shown on television almost daily.
The Ice Water challenge. To try to bring awareness and donations in the battle to fight A.L.S. Athletes, and
other celebrities are caught up in this new challenge. Many people have accepted the challenge to dump or to
have dumped upon them Ice Water, film it and post it onto you tube or social media. Then to challenge specific
individuals to do the same within 24 hours, and also to donate to the cause. It has been done by many people and continues to be a big trend.
It's also has helped raise awareness of the terrible disease. ESPN just did a long story about the disease and how
it effects so many - so severely. If you haven't seen it and you want to..... I'm sure you tube has thousands of
videos of this being done. If the stars of your local team have not done it.....maybe they're not as big of stars as
you may have thought. What do LeBron James and Martha Stewart have in common ? They've both done this.
The A.L.S. foundation says that donations are up by 400 % this year.

I walked outside my front door (apts) this morning to some actor doing this. I have no idea who he was, definitely not mainstream. But either way, cool guy. Pun intended.

    Great post sbf,
The guy who is at the center of this fund raising is pretty deep into A.L.S. He has lost his ability to take care of himself. He can no longer speak either without the help from a computer program designed to assist people who can not speak. He took the challenge himself. At a baseball field - in the outfield, he had Ice water dumped on his head. He recently found out that he and his wife are going to have a child.
I must agree with you. Most things that go viral are not worth much attention. I think this is great though because celebrities and athletes are usually pretty over confident. Doing something self deprecating is a good humbling thing. A raised sense of charity is good for the country as well.

Keith Olbermann did this challenge on his television show recently.
