    jared,
You're exactly right. Cops kill unarmed persons far too often. I am glad they're trying to stop or limit use of this equipment. It will just lead to more killing.

As I said the Feds have jurisdiction over federal crimes ,Civil Rights violations are a federal matter, no about those cops that walked away scot free after committing murder, who are they?

    Darren Wilson
    Timothy Loehmann
    Daniel Pantaleo
    Matt Kenny
    Christopher Manney
    etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

And this is just in the past year.

My goodness...are you really that blind?

I agree. The only problem is that private companies can still sell these police forces as many armored weaponry as they want to. That's why we have to pass a law ranging in our nations cops because if we don't then they will never stop these senseless killings.

With the exception of Darren Wilson, who did not commit murder but shot a criminal after a robbery and after being attacked himself, and still you push this as a murder, even when eyewitnesses say otherwise and a grand jury agreed with them, your bias is showing again, now I know nothing from the names only , I need places and dates and jurisdiction, you might have as well as said Tom, Dick and Harry and you say all of these cops walked away scot free after committing a murder.

I encourage you to do some research about police murders then. You might learn something new.

And don't even get me started on the murder of Michael Brown. A DA who did his damnedest to prevent a cop from getting any charges for murdering an unarmed black teenager is obviously someone that you and Fox News admire, but anyone who has a working brain and understands that he never wanted to charge Darren Wilson in the first place knows that the whole 'investigation' was a charade. (I have to ask if you understand that word because you always get really upset when I use words you don't understand.)

So in essence you are stating what you feel and not what the facts and witnesses and a grand jury determined to what the truth of the matter is, No siree bob, no bias here, BTW, I did some research and all of the named officers were cleared either by the District Atty. or the Grand jury, one officer was fired Christopher Manney for violating dept. policy regarding "pat downs", but it was ruled self defense, again no charges, so you think it was murder, even though as I mentioned before the experts in the field and of course witnesses and grand juries said other wise.

JC - time to put a bit more polish on that shiny badge and more shine on those spiffy black shoes so you will start receiving more adoration from the old white guys at the coffee shop.

J.C. As I told you many times, my neighbor is a State Police Trooper,he completely admits that the training is shoot at the torso or head; they never do any training to shoot at other parts of the body. He also admits that in Sweden they get the correct training; statistics prove that also. Sorry I'll stick to my statement : The police here gets basicly "military" training with a fringe only on how to write unjustified tickets. They certainly don't get any training in politeness or learn on how to smile. Only arrogance and being a bully is a hiring qualification.

Here's the full speech given by President Obama yesterday. I hope these changes are just the beginning of the difficult task of reforming our nations police forces to work for all citizens and not treat a subset of them as the enemy.

Speaking of Congress needing to get involved--they did so today and boy was it a doozie of a hearing. Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee insisted that nothing is wrong and that we should be thanking cops for murdering unarmed citizens while Democrats talked about facts, numbers, and their own personal stories of being stopped for walking or driving while black.

If this hearing was a harbinger of things to come then we can pretty much assume that nothing is going to change anytime soon. As long as Republicans dig their heads in the sand and think that our nations police forces should be able to racially profile and kill unarmed citizens who didn't commit a crime then we will continue the endless cycle of cops murdering someone and having it all swept under the rug. As long as cops are judge, jury, and executioner then things will never change in this country.

Jared; yes you are absolutely right; it is "baked in" since before the civil war and Indian killings.

So I guess you agree with the theory of guilty because I said so, regardless of what sitting grand juries decide or what witnesses testify under oath about facts that they either seen or heard, and the best thing you can up with in rebuttal is what , sarcasm regarding a badge and shoes. How sad for you.

And as I said many times , shooting at limbs while in motion is very dangerous to bystanders, so while limbs are for the most part present a much smaller target and since lethal force situations are not a video game to be scored, lethal force is called LETHAL for a reason, someone is going to die,, that is the intent, and more often than not, that is the outcome. And for as military training goes, of course we are trained under the auspices of military tactics as far as firearms training is concerned, also the idea of a chain of command is also borrowed from the military, and in certain units in law enforcement there is a need for knowledge in urban combat methods in breeching certain types of barricaded people, but by and large that specialized training is restricted to certain tactical and task force units and not your everyday patrol officer., Now .I can't speak for all police agencies but in Philadelphia we do not employ a quota system for writing traffic citations, also at our Academy there are many hours spent both in the classroom and in hands on training in the area of community relations, crisis assessment and how to cope with volatile emotional situations. You are showing your own bias and by adding a summation of personal animus against police officers everywhere to either convince yourself of your own fantasy or maybe perhaps someone even less informed than you are.

J.C. you are absolutely dead wrong. So if you shoot to kill on the heart and head you don't hit bystanders; thus only if you shoot on the legs. What world do you live in? You refuse to see on how other countries like Sweden train their people and who they hire. Anyway you finally admit the huge military influence in the forces here; be happy with it; we are the enemy which has to be killed for jay-walking. I wonder can you eat with knife and fork? Like Jared said you will never open up your eyes about the world around you.
