Every night there is a killing in the Ft Myers FL area; the killing rate goes up and up as predicted. We will never learn until doomsday I guess.
When do people wake up that this country's mentality and killing tools are the cause. Stop the nutty gun and knife shows; all the TV killing shows, games etc. Our media indoctrinates people in such a way that "killing" is "good" (the person who kills is mostly the hero) On top of that we glorify our armed forces and forget that they have killed hundreds of thousands people in foreign countries without any remorse. Even used chemicals to do so.
So no wonder the killing spree will continue; up to the next case; keep loving those guns, the NRA lobby as well as war movies/games America!!

..."We will never learn until doomsday, I guess."... You're right, we have more than 300 million people and more than 300 million guns and that means lots of senseless killings and nothing will stop it. People have been killing people ever since there have been people, long before America has existed. All the new gun laws in the world can't stop the senseless killing now, never have and never will. But this will bring a cry for new gun laws, as if that would work. It won't.

The next senseless killing will bring calls for new laws and then the time after that, and the time after that. Neither the senseless killings nor the calls for new laws will ever end, nor will new laws ever solve the problem.

As far as the ..."nutty gun and knife shows; all the killing TV shows; games etc."... they make money so they won't be going away.

Don't worry, the NRA owns plenty of our elected officials, they will be fine.

MONEY wins, everything else is secondary.

Now add three dead in Myrtle Beach.

USA Today: 3 dead, 1 hurt in shooting at Myrtle Beach motel

"Memorial Day weekend in South Carolina came with terrible tragedy as three people were killed and a fourth person wounded in shootings at an oceanfront motel in Myrtle Beach and along the beach's new boardwalk.

"According to local reports, someone opened fire late Saturday night at one of the state's most popular tourist destinations, in front of crowds of people.

"The first shooting occurred at about 9:30 p.m., Myrtle Beach police spokesman Capt. David Knipes told The Sun News. Then, while officers were still investigating the first shooting, another took place at about 11 p.m. at Bermuda Sands Resort, some seven blocks away."

The funny thing is in this country, they honour the "fallen" soldiers; may be we should have also an holiday for all the "fallen" citizens to honour our gun laws; start waving those flags and heat up the barbecue!! Wow what a country !!

Shame on the US for being controlled by corporations.

Shame on the US for being controlled by corporations that manufacture guns.

Shame on all politicians who take money from corporations. We SOOOOOO need campaign finance reform. We SOOOOO need to get the $$$$ out of politics.

MoiBree everything you say is correct.

But it's not just gun manufacturers that control the US. They do, but it's also big oil companies, big labor unions, big pharmaceuticals, big banking...the list goes on and on. Pretty much all big organizations and corporations buy our politicians, and the politicians are all too eager to sell out.

I think most or all on this forum agree that we need to have campaign finance reform, and we need to get the lobbyists out of Washington. It won't happen because the criminals (politicians) make the rules, and they won't bite the hand that feeds them.

They get rich up there in Washington, and when voted out of office, they become lobbyists and stay there because that's where the money is. They just change teams from taking bribes to giving bribes.

I don't know if the hospital shooting here in the Philly region, Darby,Pa. to be exact, has been reported Nation wide, but it appears that a psychiatric patient with violent mental issues, shot and killed his caseworker while in his Psychiatrist office in the hospital , he then shot at the doctor wounding him in the hand and a graze wound to his head, the doctor was armed and shot the patient severely wounding him but did not kill him, on his person the police found 39 more rounds of ammo, with which the police had surmised that he was going to shoot up the hospital but for the doctor shooting him, now the hospital administrators are considering placing sanctions on the doctor for violating the policy and procedures of the hospital regarding carrying or using firearms in the workplace, although there has been a huge outcry ,at least in this region, to not punish this doctor, he did save countless lives, the decision has not been made yet, but what do you think the hospital administration should do if anything?

All those guns people are buying must be reducing crime...................or just enabling an option to shoot more people. Don't believe the fantasy that crime is reducing in America. The numbers of crimes are being hid by some very good accounting. The parts of country that have the benefit in showing a drop in crime is shown by funky math.

Here in Philly we have had a drop in homicides but property crimes are on the rise as are assaults, we do have an open carry law in Pa. but common sense dictates, at least in Philly, if you walk around with a weapon on your hip in plain sight and any citizen makes a 911 call about a person with a gun, trust me , you will be stopped and often, we also have a concealed carry permit, which this Doctor had, do you think this doctor should be sanctioned even though he saved countless lives?
