"Do we all see the world with our own prejudices" YES. 110%. If someone... Anyone says they are not prejudice, or biased, they are lying. You cannot control how you concisely think about a person or situation. You CAN most of the times control how you portray that physically or verbally. With mainstream media and Corporette America getting ahold of every little thing turning it all into a sideshow of feelings, we will NEVER get passed the things that bother everyone.
It's amazing how much effect television and video editing has on the world today. Has everyone forgot we are PEOPLE?! Human beings. Thats it. We should not cry when someone says something we do not like. Why not cry? Because you are a GROWN MAN, or GROWN WOMAN. Not a 6 year old child who was just called "stupid" in school.
I was watching a video on 'Youtube' a few days ago with a favorite actor of mine Ron Pearlman. He was at the air port, no crowd around, with his dog trying to get on a plane. A man was video taping him in a strange fasion, so Ron asked him at first to stop taping him. The man declined so Ron reached for the camera slowley and the "man" proceeded to say "DON"T ASSAULT ME".... Are you kidding me? Don't assault me? What the hell happened to one man having respect for another?
The church goers in my town are hold their head up high while they judge every one else. I've personally seen it, it's well known. But yet if word starts to spread they are OPENLY (keyword-OUT IN THE OPEN) judgemental then WHOAH! No no no! Leave our church and we will slander your name! Even though they preach that everyone else will go to hell "Except us yall! Were Good"
The reporters for pretty much all news media, report on how bad bad bad these people like Donald Sterling are, yet they themselves CAN NOT say they have never thought those things or said them. CAN NOT. It is impossible to not have those feelings in your head. It is human nature.
These thoughts naturally fly into your head in a fraction of a millisecond. You brain is a data base filled with life experiences. If one of those experiences that you connect to are negative, and include someone of another race (or for the sexist out there- Man or Woman) Does that make you a racist or prejudice? NO! That makes you a normal human being with a functioning brain. AGAIN. It is up to you if you would like to verbalize it.
If you do verbalize it, that leads back to the point of who's going to cry about it. Why?... Why cry? We have all of these channels, tv shows, events, etc, etc celebrating African Americans, but yet it would be RACIST for the white man to do the same. Why? Because mainstream America SAYS SO! News media, movies, songs, literature, says so.
Oprah Winfrey walked into a store about a year ago to buy a purse, the WHITE clerk asked her if she could help, and Winfrey said yes. "I would like the purse on the top shelf". Apperantly the clerk went on to tell Oprah that it was a 12,000 dollar purse, and she had a cheaper one that looked the same. Oprah declined and went on the purchase the more expensive purse. NOW... The media got a hold of this.... The young clerk lost her job temporarily (maybe permanently) for being a RACIST, and swarms of hypocritical people came to the rescue with their OWN PERSONAL NEGATIVE JUDGEMENTAL COMMENTS.
What actually happend was normal. The clerk was friendly and tried to inform her there was a cheaper purse that looked the same. Being it is a 12,000 dollar purse. Oprah said the clerk wasn't rude and laughed when asked if she was racist "Of course not, she was doing her job". Do you honestly think someone would decline Oprah... of ALL people, to purchase a expensive purse because she is African American?
The answer is no. Media got ahold of it and saw a racism story... Pathetic... If racism wasn't in the news 24-7 and everyone would stop talking about it, guess what, it would go away. If there's a group of bully's in high school that their only weapon is calling hurtful names, what do you do? Well, what the logical thing to do is STOP LISTENING TO THEM! If that is what is in there arsenal, take their arsenal from them! But, if lets say 10 people out of 100 still continue to cry and throw fits everytime they don't like what the bully says, then what happens? The bullies stay alive and thrive. It's simple and sad.
